His philosophy is that when signing a player, its not his footballing ability which should be criteria number 1, its personality. Character comes first, skill after. Pizy 18,952
See a lot of you here and lots on Twitter who are against Poch. Personally, I’d have either Poch or Potter without complaint. I don’t hold Poch’s time at PSG against him a single bit just like I didn’t with Tuchel. Much like our own club, it doesn’t matter whether you’re a world class coach or not, you’ll eventually get on the wrong side of the hugely powerful players and get sacked. Nobody is going to succeed there longer than a few years. His Spuds team before it went totally stale were a machine. If he can replicate that here I wouldn’t mind. Potter could be special and a stroke of genius IF these egomaniac players buy in. Will they listen to a coach from Brighton without a flashy CV? kc_blue

Superblue 6,372
There's a lot of talk of Paul Mitchell being a front runner for the director of football role. If that were true, it would point to Poch being a strong candidate considering their time together at Spurs.
Blues11 213
I’ve been critical of TT but even this surprised me. I wish him well, wanted it to workout but it’s obvious he lost control and couldn’t garner a response out of the players. He’s burned bridges with management in his previous jobs and I guess that continues. Boehly surprised me with this one. I think it was the right move, we’ve struggled for a long time and I personally think him guiding us through the sanctions was a tad bit overrated. Jype 6,398
Would have expected him to be given time till at least a new DoF is appointed before getting the boot. Boehly and his band probably have no clue which manager to appoint that suits our current personnel. In hindsight the writing's been on the wall since pre-season, and more specifically the Arsenal game. Not so much the performances in the pre-season games but the interviews Tuchel gave to the media, basically throwing a lot of players under the bus for not being committed both mentally and physically. The same kind of comments continued into the new season after almost every match, which indicated problems inside the dressing room. What I don't get, however, is the timing of all this. Why was Tuchel being given lots of responsibility regarding transfer targets and player sales if the problems have been looming behind the scenes since pre-season? Now we have lots of players brought in for big money who may not even be good fits for the next manager. Aubameyang was brought in specifically to please Tuchel, while the likes of Werner, CHO, Gilmour were all let go because Tuchel didn't want to keep them. Now less than a week after the window is closed Tuchel is gone and the next manager might well have other ideas? Player power at Chelsea FC strikes again. Even the ones who've previously played well under Tuchel's management seem to have turned shit overnight and it's not been a tactical issue either. It's fucking bullshit but nothing we can do about it really. Just hope whoever comes in can turn things around quickly because nothing's been lost yet and we have the quality to be better than the shite we've seen this season. Potter would be my choice if he can be acquired. Could be willing to go for Pochettino or even Rodgers at a pinch if Potter is unavailable. Just need to stay clear of Zidane. That Spurs team on paper was very strong (as mentioned every 5 minutes at the time by the media) and he won nothing with it. 2 cup finals that they were comprehensively outplayed and beaten in both and one second place finish where they didn't get close to catching us. For me, he had opportunities to kick them on and never did and that Spurs team got worse over time because his recruitment was rubbish. I feel like he's someone who's had his chance now at the top table a couple of times and proven to not really be it. My hatred for all things Spurs probably soils my thoughts on him further I must admit, but I do believe he's overhyped. He shouldn't be in the conversation of the likes of Zidane, Enrique, Flick, etc who are big name coaches that actually have a record of winning big trophies. If you're not going down that route, and you're looking at a 'project' manager for the long term I'd rather hang my hat on someone like Graham Potter and take my chances with that than I would with Poch. chelsea_4_eva 1,182
Opened instagram and this is the first thing I see, quite shocked it has come so fast tbh. But there was something definitely wrong, this is a team that almost knocked our RM last season with a 3 goal deficit. From that passion to this dire situation, something must be up. Also with Potter he does play with 3ATB sometimes, so that would be helpful.

I don't see why Potter would be so stick to Brighton job. He is doing great job but what is the project he should be staying with so much? They can achieve 7-8th place if they perform extremely good, but that's the limit..
