What is Havertz actually good at? He looks so average...

It's looking sad at the moment. The moment our two main creative players (Ziyech and Pulisic) couldn't play, the onus was on Havertz to do something and he has hidden in his shell.

Sad to see, i was honestly hoping he could pull something for once. The only team he has played outstanding this season was against a championship team.

He was shiite today, but thats besides the point because hes been shiite plenty this season(although not as bad as today)

The problem is what is his position? People say he can play winger but he CLEARLY cant. He looks awful playing it. Playing through the middle is a bigger question since hes so lazy. Mount having to play deeper than him to make up for his lazy strides makes Mount look worse. Can he play as a striker? What is he here for?

I play five a side footie three times a week and one of those times I do it with my friends that have played the game during their youth - I didn't, just played the game for fun, I'm not bad at it, but not great either. But when I am around them I look exactly like the current Kai Havertz, I am three steps behind them, I misplace passes, I am all over the place, I can barely dribble anyone because they know the game and they do this little tricks you learn during football practice like using your body to shove someone off and stuff like this. At least I compensate by being fit and I go into Kante mode and I tackle the shit out of them and block shots and play it safe by my standards. But they are my friends and understand all this.

It is the best how I can describe Kai Havertz at the moment, he is soooooo off the pace compared to everybody else. Maybe a bit insecure, too.

'I tackle the shit out of them' made me lol.

Give him hell (but, you know, the friendly kind)

Ballon d'or? Lol

Hazard was the closest thing we ever had that might have won Ballon d'or, but was unlucky because of Messi and Ronaldo.
I don't think we will have anyone close to Hazards level of greatness in the next coming years.

As a 10 behind tammy or Giroud is his best position right now. Ask him to float around and he should be fine but he still struggle with epl

Hazard's mental attitude is still notches above.

He arrived at the club at the same age, and while he had underwhelming performances in some matches, he almost never put on a "bad" performance.

Anyway, not all players are the same. Havertz clearly has to mature as a player.

As people have mentioned previously, with the 20+ yr old players in our squad, its likely that quite a few of them will go through rough patches like this before they become consistent. Today his head wasn't in the game.

I wasn't comparing hazard to Havertz. But Hazard is very2 annoying player. He was the best player in epl without question, but so non chalant. Sometime, he can took season off.

Good to see the lessons are being learned from James' and Mount's resurgence.

Oh come on. That's not fair.

Even at their worst, mount and Reece showed their talent.

Simple question, what is his USP? What is he good at? He can't pass? He does not run, he can't fucking turn without taking a year's worth of time. For all his height, physically is shit, can't bloody fucking shield the ball. What is he good for? Simple question.

He would be a good player for the Lyons and leverkusens of the world but will never be a good player at a top club as they are not afforded time. Mount is a 10* better player in all aspects of the game.

Even when pulisic was struggling, you could see aspects of his game which set him apart. With KAI, it's literally nothing.

‘I know I have room to improve’: Kai Havertz makes vow to Chelsea FC fans

Kai Havertz vows to keep working hard to improve his game at Chelsea FC

https://www.thesportreview.com/2020/12/chelsea-fc-news-kai-havertz-fans/

Kai Havertz has vowed to keep working harder than ever to improve his game as he looks to write his name into Chelsea FC folklore.

The Chelsea FC attacker has been settling into life at Stamford Bridge after having signed for the Blues from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer transfer window.

Havertz, 21, has been a regular fixture in the Chelsea FC first-team this season and he made five appearances in the Champions League group stage to help Frank Lampard’s men progress through to the last 16.

Easy to say in hindsight, back I September people were declaring we sold the wrong fullback and that Lamptey was going to be our new KDB.

Today is literally the first time since Brighton I thought he was genuinely terrible, other times I feel he's looked like a top class player having an off day, obviously that in itself can't keep happening but still...

Again that's something that's all sweet to say in hindsight. Apart from the super cup Pulisic was absolutely anonymous for his first two months at a club (including against League two Grimsby) and he was largely questioned due to that and his not so great goal record at Dortmund.

Lampard did the right thing then and pulled Pulisic out of the firing line for a while, hopefully he does the same here.
