come on m8, thsi seems a bit much
I am not a Mount basher at all in terms of thsi and especially to this level
I think he is a more than decent player
far far worse dregs abound on the club
Yes, but is he Chelsea first team starting line material? Because I do not think so. As a squad player, he is brilliant to have.

We are Chelsea. We should have players in our starting eleven that can compete with the best of the best. Mount would not make it in either United, City or Liverpool

Have no idea how they measure key passes.

Stats are not everything ofc but how the hell not once happened to Mount to make official assist from real open play?

He has one against Burnley but that was after play from corner so basically like corner, everyone was in the box.

RLC came in and do this against Palace after six minutes.

3340 minutes this season and zero (1) assist from open play from AM... Come on...

Feel like Mount's game has suffered from Lampard's constant tinkering of the midfield. We have seen that Mount can score goals, can provide assists at Vitesse and Derby - okay, different leagues and all that but still. Rather than let a player - a young player - have a fixed role or a fixed position to develop, Lampard has been asking Mount to do, A B C D etc. Lampard was talking about wanting fluidity in midfield the other day and based on his quotes, not sure if he has a clarity of what he wants his midfielders to do. Being versatile and flexible is one thing but it sounded almost as if Lampard wants them to do everything.

Oh look, the Champions League is a deal breaker for someone!

By the way, I don't think Havertz wants to leave Leverkusen because they didn't qualify for the Champions League. I think he wants to leave because he's outgrown them and he'll only improve if he leaves for a bigger club.

Yes he's very good squad player and yes u need such squad players in your team, they essential for the balance ...  we just can't have 11 stars in our team.

Agree he is not really shining at the moment but feel he does have the skills and attitude at this age. As Jason mentioned part of this could be down to the constant changing of position or could be other reasons.

A bigger clubs means a club that plays CL

No, it means a club that can offer him a massive wage rise and a better platform for future success.

I don't think many players care about not being in the CL in the short term. United signed Pogba, Di Maria etc. all without CL football while we got N'Golo Kante in 2016 after a disastrous season. Could be some exceptions to this of course, but as a basic rule I'd say there just needs to be a clear direction the club is heading to attract good talent.

That being said, I don't think we'd get Havertz without CL football but that's coming mostly from a financial standpoint rather than Kai himself backing out.

Hazard only came to us because of CL football.

If what Matt Law said the other day is true, then qualifying for the Champions League will ensure additional 50 million in the transfer budget.

Like I said there are exceptions but many top players have moved to clubs without CL football on offer.

And while Hazard had many options to choose from, it looks like for Havertz there may not be many other suitors for a 2020 move. Of course he can wait a year and then have his pick of clubs but does he want to stay at Leverkusen another season?

But either way, guaranteeing CL footy is crucial whether it's the money or pulling power we're talking about.

Werner came before the CL was secured and passed up the chance of playing in this years final rounds

Yeah but there is a difference between the skill level of Werner and Havertz. Just compare the technique of them both.
