Did the fact that Chilwell started his first game in months against Villa the other day fly over people's head?

Anyway, dumb ass penalty to give away yesterday. But that aside, he was decent and great technique to score from the shot with the lowest xG in that sequence of play. The quicker he gets up to speed again, the better it will be for the team.

He was hot and cold yesterday.

Terrible defending, decent going forward. I don't know if this was always his level, but it certainly feels like he was a lot better last season. Maybe just needs some time.

It’s evident he isn’t match sharp yet.

Looks like he is back to his best. Already outscored Alonso with a goal per game since his comeback. He also took up some Alonso-esque positions during the match, including for his goal. Maybe there is a quality wing back in him after all ;)

Still concerned with his delivery. In fact, him and Azpi’s final ball was near shocking 99/100 times yesterday.

As wingbacks, they need to do more in the final third in those crossing positions. Especially when we play 352 and they are going to be one of the most vital attacking threats in the team.

Such a shame. He was absolutely brilliant since his return. ACL would completely ruin his momentum and set his carrer back for years.

If he really is out for more than a few weeks, we should break the bank for Theo. Don't see any viable alternative.

Horrible news if it's confirmed. He's been in good form this season and one of our better performers so losing him for such a long time would be a devastating blow.

Wouldn't trust Alonso to handle playing two games a week for the next six months without any injuries or dips in form so an ACL for Chilwell would effectively force the club into the market in January, or maybe even recall Emerson from Lyon?

Devastating. Will be a huge miss for the team as he was a constant threat in attack and athletic defensively. Alonso can do one of those things but will be targeted by every team we play against.

If he’s done for the season we absolutely need another body in January.
