It comes down, do we have a target in mind ?

And if we do have someone in mind then it's the fun part. The usual can they actually get the deal done rather then spending so much time faffing till it falls through.

That's if we can make signings.

Cannot believe we're back in the champions League. How shite the rest of this lot are. Sarri should send gift packages to Emery, podge and ole for making him look semi competent

Our current points total would be enough for top four in 20 of the last 23 season's.

LAst season's top teams were not as pathetic as this season....we are here cuz our rivals suck ass. Its not thanks to us playing good footy and being consistent.

Plastics? For real mate? Being not fond how we have been this season under a clueless manager that refuses to change things no matter what, makes many of us plastics?

Poch is a far superior manager than Sarri.......you give him a quality team and he will do damage im sure of it. He is tactically astute, have the balls to drop his players if they fuck up, have the insight to change formations when needed, knows how to change a game by not subbing like for like every damn game all season. Everything Sarri hasnt shown with us. He has them in CL and gets zero backing in transfers.....atm he is far better than Sarri.

I agree in regards to perception, however if Sarri finishes above Poch and wins the Europa, I will argue he is better. Give Sarri Song or Kane or both and we would have another 10 -12 points. Sarri is in his 1st season, signed 2 weeks before the season started, Poch has won nothing, Kane is an Alan Shearer but if they bottle it this Year he should consider moving because with this manager he might never win a trophy. at best 4 - 5 of our players will make into Spurs, they have a better team, buying is not always the solution ask United fans. Even Danny Rose is better than the 2 we have, if Sarri finishes 3rd Poch is overrated and manages bottlers.

Not worried about the Higuain situation. I can't imagine the club will think he's good enough to be our main striker and challenge City and Liverpool. If he does stay and we can sign players we'll surely bring in someone else to be first choice. That would certainly spell the end for Giroud, though, because he ain't sticking around to be 3rd choice.

I just want to see Chelsea with a striker who's more than just a goal scorer or target man. I want to see a proper footballer who can beat players with skill and pace and who can actually fucking score from outside the box. Be nice to have one who can win us matches when we have shit days as well. It's what kept Arse as close to a top 4 finish all season. Play poorly and have Aubameyang & Lacazette bail them out repeatedly. Same with Spuds and Kane/Son. We haven't had that since Diego left.

Imo they dont have a better team than us, overall its even, but we have spent much much more. They are just more solid, they play to the strenghts that thay have. Thats what a decent manager has to do. Im all for Sarri to be given time but progress has to be seen, flexibility has to be shown. And he has done none of that. Name one player that has improved under sarri, bare the first 10 games we have been utter crap, boring zombie state footy. Even our boy Kante has become a shadow of his former self. He has to understand this is EPL, the best managers are here, teams dont give you a sec to breath, they live on exposing your tactics and play. Its fast and direct. Sarri has not gotten this memo yet.

Sarri Ball could only work if we had a creative midfielder and we don´t have that. Jorginho most of the time plays like a second no. 6 standing next to a real no. 6 in Kante. If we had KDB or prime Cesc, we would have a high chance of actually becoming a great team again. As long as we don´ have that in our team, we will be average. Every world class team has a world class passer.

if we could bought De Jong for Jorginho place would be great, but him is already barcelona player!

We are not even at all our attack reads: Hazard 16, Morata 5, Higuain 5, Giroud 2 compare the 3 strikers we have to Kane and Song.At best Giroud would compete with Llorente Likewise Ericsson and Jorginho, Danny Rose and Alonso/Emerson, Tippier and Cesar

For all the talk of shite football some people have a very short memory. Year we won the league under Jose with Costa, Cesc, Courtois etc we spent the last half of the season playing with a low block, using 2 holding midfielders (Mikel and Matic) playing absolutely shite against the likes of fucking Palace, West Brom, whoever else relying on Hazard and Costa effectively. We won the league yes but theres no comparison to how we played then to how we play now, apart from we had a better defensive record (which I think with the addition of another CB and LB, will definitely improve, Luiz for as good as he can be in games and what he can do with the ball is still a very inconsistent player and the LBs are both very very very average. I hope Azpi with a full summer off comes back a lot sharper and rested up for next season because he can still offer a lot, youd think he was Ivanovic at times this year though).

I dont get what people honestly expect, if we continued in this manner, playing shite football, wed have come up short in Europe like we did against the bigger teams because wed probably be playing a midfield consisting of Kante, Drinkwater and Bakayoko. Cant please everyone but we are defos in the CL after a poor transitional season, had a cup final and potentially in another if we get a result in the second leg of the EL. If it was any other manager trying to totally change things would it really be that bad a season? Yes and no. But honestly, youd think we have been fighting relegation reading this threads at times this season. Some people need to suck it up we arent anywhere near Liverpool or Citys level (and probably not even Spurs level) for good reason, theyve stuck to an identity for seasons (Pellegrini started the process off at City), with good signings... weve been at it for a season with very poor/average recruitment over the last 5 windows or so and people are moaning because we dont play great, which is understandable at times considering we have got/had Kovacic, Pedro, Willian, Higuain, Morata, Alonso, Emerson, all playing regularly this season when its fair to say for various reasons havent been or arent good enough. No manager is gonna turn Willian in to a high goal scoring and assisting winger its far too late in his career for that. Pedro is a goal scorer and has done alright but again he can offer nothing if hes not able to run into spaces behind a defence, Higuain has been average and while at times his movement looks excellent the ball doesnt come quick enough... Kovacic and Barkley far too inconsistent and safe this year, Alonso started alright but tailed off terribly and Emerson has shown defensive naivety at times as well as showing his crossing is probably on par with Victor Moses....

I'll take that low block any day of the week instead of the shit we are getting this season. At least we had a plan, several actually. Teams knew they were in for a fight and we would turn up in the big games. We played in a way to maximise our results. Under Sarri we are an open book. Sure we are in top 4 and I'll give you that, its awesome. But the play is the most boring I can remember.

Don't get where this optimism come from. You're talking about a club who decided to sign Drinkwater/Bakayoko, not back the managers after winning the league title plus other transfer blunders in recent years!

There no denying our attack is crap bare Eden. But you also have to admit spurs play to their strenghts, we dont. This lot can do better. Be more organized and solid and not letting every damn team cut us open like butter.

True, but difference this time is their hand may be forced if we have to buy before a transfer ban kicks in. Even the bozo's on our board know that we are miles and miles behind the top 2 and only significant outlay will bridge the gap. They can't be stupid enough to think Higuain and Giroud are going to challenge for the title.

We really will morph into Arsenal if that happens.

Well last season playing to those supposed strength's we wound up 5th with our second worst run of form in the entire Roman era. What exactly was the plan when Bournemouth came to Stamford Bridge and took the piss out of us?

Baka was a Conte signing, else he would have been frozen out by November.

Given the stupidity they have shown with previous transfers, we shouldn't be surprised if they decided to do so and just back Sarri with the transfer.
