Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone has claimed that he looks at a player’s star sign before signing them, and says that he likes Geminis as they are aggressive and intense.

since I married a Gemini I must tend to agree (especially as She wont see this ) however it is just as logical as believing no one under 6'2 can play football

Its great that people have different opinions.

I am also glad that the owner, board, players, coaches, scouts, and all associated with the club back the greatest manager CFC have ever had at present, and our views have zero influence on what happens. :)

Thats why he is getting sacked if results don't improve.

And you have been moaning for a week where they had absolutely no chance of proving if they will walk the walk or not.

Less moaning, more waiting.

actually if u had been paying attention. then u would have known that i have been moaning since the WBA win, infact before the match started and the team sheets came out and both iva and cesc were on it.

this "player confidence" and "talks" seems so idiotic and looks so obvious that its almost funny. whats also funny is the fact that except for willian, none of these players should even be opening their mouths. they should be working on the training ground for that extra 10-15 minutes rather than giving useless interviews.

Yes. But it is also true that Simone bet on young players because Atletico de Madrid is a team with less economic power than Chelsea and they need to create young players and then selling them to other teams. in Chelsea IMO Simeone would be a different manager, very similar to Jose.

But Simeone is always surrounded by an "old school" of veteran players (like Godin, Miranda, Juanfran, Tiago, Gabi ...) which are totally untouchable for him.

did not simeone replace miranda with gimenez? totally wrong of you to put simeone and jose in the same bracket when talking about "veteran players". be it gabi/mario suarez/tiago/miranda. all of them have faced the axe when not performing well, unlike jose's cesc, iva.

Yes, but in general terms Simeone usually has an "old guard" of veteran players, but obviously he bet on young players like Jimenez if they perform well. It's just a way of saying that Simeone and Jose have similar characteristics at the time of manage their squad.

I mean that both have a similar "philosophy". For example, Mourinho with Materazzi or Casillas also he sent them to the bench without looking if they were or not players from the "old school".

Mourinho and Simeone believe in "meritocracy", but always supported by the "old school", as Jose did at Inter Milan or with us last season betting heavily on JT

when Benitez had said that he could not play every weekend.

Godin or Gabi are untouchable in Atletico de Madrid, even being in a bad physical moment because his seniority is important for Simeone.

IMO Simeone and Mourinho are very similar.

godin is untouchable cos he is one of the best CBs. plus since ATM, dont have a massive contingent of CBs in their squad, godin will start most matches.

and that is not right for gabi. just last year simeone dropped gabi from juventus, malmo and getafe in october cos of his poor form.

also, jose and meritocracy in the same sentence currently makes me laugh.

there is a difference in "style of managing" and in the "characteristics" of the manager. they are both managers who normally are associated with a good defence and a good base on which they can build their teams.

but simeone has dropped turan, has dropped miranda, has dropped gabi when they are not playing well. jose's favouritism towards one player like ivanovic or cesc is nothing more than that - favouritism.
