The Mourinho Thread

They have strict guidelines they have to follow. If they don't they get banned. If they get banned they'll most likely lose their jobs. I'm sure the journos would love to get a decent story

Not even simple questions like 'Jose, do you think Liverpol were able to bypass your team's pressing a bit too easily today?' or 'You managed to overload the left wing many times in today's game with Luis playing at LB [...]'? Surely they could be a bit more adventurous with what they ask (in the post match conferences at least) without getting banned.

I can understand that but still, most questions aren't even worth asking. They should just stop the press conferences if they aren't allowed to ask decent questions, atm it's really a waste of time imo.

Imagine the shitstorm if Mourinho responded every question with: "I'm just here so I won't get fined." :D

Would probably still get fined. "No comment" is a genuine answer and if he was punished for repeating it, that would be preach of word freedom.

Hmm, I have got a mixed feeling. We will win the PL this season, no way 'this Mourinho' will be failed to do so this time. BUT..

if there are some 'power' that prevent it, like FA could do, I believe IF Jose failed to win PL this season, he will resign at the end of season...

He basically will think this is become 'out of his hands' job to do, I understand if he choose to leave.

Where will Cuadrado play in your team?

'Goalkeeper impossible because we don't need him there. Central defenders we don't need, and he's too small. After that he can play everywhere.'

Is he ready now?

'I think he can, unless the Premier League or FA say some rule stops him.'

Can Mohammed Salah come back?

'He's a Chelsea player who is on loan. He's our player. When we sell the players, they're not ours. But he is our player.'

Drogba or Remy tomorrow?

'Yes. One (of them).'

Five points clear, Capital One Cup final, Champions League last 16, you should be enjoying it. You don't appear to be? Is that fair?

'I'm enjoying my work with my players. When I like my players, when I like my squad, I'm much more happy, more motivated to work, and this is the case.'

It's just when you speak to us?

'Speak to you? You know why I'm here, so you cannot expect that I'm super happy to be here.'

So you're here because you have to be here?

'Yes.'

Why didn't you speak to the media before City?

'Because, if you want, you can make a silence very noisy. It depends what you want to do. You could. You could. You could make noise with my silence, because you know the reason for my silence. It depends on you. If I was a journalist, from silence I could make lots of words.'

All because of Costa's ban?

'Not just (that).'

Are you pleased with your position?

'I feel the distance could be much bigger. If I analysed which I'm not going to do the last five, six, seven matches, we could, we should have a bigger difference.'

Why no new deal announced with Hazard?

'Why should it be officialised? Why? What's the problem? He has a contract with Chelsea for two or three more years. Are you worried? I'm not worried. I'm not worried.'

Do you expect to be fined by the Premier League for not attending the media conferences?

'You know, the only surprise I had in relation for that was not to be punished when I was pushed by another manager. Apart from that, I can expect everything.'

:worship:

And who asking this very unrelated question? :carlo:

How did University affect your life?

'Every experience you have in life helps you to be what you are. University was five years of my life. For sure, it made a contribution to what I am. I cannot measure it. I can't say it's more important than being a manager's son, or more important than being an assistant to other managers. I don't know.'

His reply about Hazard's contract situation doesn't exactly fill me with confidence.

Why? The guy is contracted here - just because other desperate clubs feel the need to offer a new contract every week doesn't mean we should!

Do you get a pay rise every couple months?

We're trying to run a responsible, profitable club - we can't just keep increasing wages and contracts because the fans and media demand it.

If Hazard wants to stay he will - he will be well rewarded and work with one of the best coaches in the world. If Hazard doesn't want that - fuck him, off you go Son. The club existed before and will exist after.
