LDN Blue 7,903
Wait, he wants to keep Matic over Fabregas?! . Boy that Italian stereotype really is coming to fruition lmao!! Anyway, I doubt this is true. Juventus don't need Fabregas, they've got Pjanic who's younger and perhaps more suited to Juve if anything. I don't have a problem with the guy being here, but he'll need protecting by Kante &/or Matic.
xPetrCechx 13,570
In fact, Fabregas has reportedly been offered to a total of four top European clubs, suggesting Conte wants the former Arsenal man gone before the summer transfer window closes. Fabregas, knowing he doesn’t have the coach’s faith, could now be open to the idea of leaving Stamford Bridge - possibly for a return to Spain. Hearing about a possible trade with James. Superblue 6,372
I think it would be a mistake for him to leave. I know that Oscar gives more intensity to a pressing game but Matic and Kante can offer that too, and I think the notion that Fabregas is a 'lazy' player is a myth as I've seen plenty of instances of him getting stuck in, making tackles. I do feel last night when we started dropping off after 60-65 minutes and West Ham slowly were getting back into the game we missed Fabregas to wrestle control back our way and keep possession. 4-3-3 is the best possible formation imo for him to thrive and I hope he stays and gets back in the team because I do think we're a better and more dangerous team with him than we are without him. sainttourist, Unionjack, The Skipper and 1 other
akgw13 867
i have a weird feeling cesc is going to be in the starting xi on saturday. he is such a difficult player to fit around but matic + kante should free him of any really difficult defensive duties. Bir_CFC 3,455
Must keep him. Oscar had a great game but it'd be naive to rely on him replicating that performance for the entirety of the season. If Cesc doesn't work with the team, sell him next season but he's too good to not keep around at least one more season, especially if we're playing 4-3-3 now. nono 791
He is like Mata imo, a player who can't handle the physicality of the league. Having either in your squad means you need another player just to cover for their defensive inefficiency. I still think he should start over the woeful Matic and Oscar but he isn't really a world beater any more.

Maybe not always as a starter against some of the more physical and pacey sides like West Ham were yesterday but definitely useful against sides that defend deep and "park the bus", forgive the cliché. And even in games where he's not starting he can come on in second half and change the game completely if the team are struggling to create chances. Just because he didn't make an appearance last night doesn't mean he won't be used in future games.

BlueLyon 9,359
You all know Im not biggest Cesc fan, but unless we bring proper replacement, selling Cesc makes no sense. And with Gundogan and Pjanic gone, Im not sure who would that be. Blue-in-me-Veins

CHOULO19 24,332
Would be beyond stupid if we force Cesc out to keep Matic. You can replace Matic, but there's no one with better passing abilities than Cesc Fabregas on the market. When there is no one on him... and no pressure... and it can't be a big team... or a big game... or any physical players out there. He is far too slow, gives up the ball too easily, and struggles in physical games. As he is ageing and losing any bit of speed he has left, he is becoming easier to take out of the game. I'm sure there are as many good replacements for Cesc as there are for Matic.
KevinAshburner 1,270
I will be absolutely pissed off if Fabregas leaves Chelsea before the transfer window closes without playing at least one more match for us.

King11Didier 916
He will find it hard to fit in this team if Conte keeps the style from the 1st match. He may find him a role, although I don't think it will be soon. But I'm interested in how Conte will use him.
