Fernando Torres

Put it this way, if Eto'o or Ba performed like he did yesterday, there wouldn't be many going on about how 'hard' the supposedly worked.

think we're past the point where we expect output from Torres. Most of the posts on here reek of sympathy now

This, this, this, this, this!

And to make it worse, Torres is the one that cost 50m yet he has less demanded of him for some reason. He just needs to turn up and people will be falling over themselves telling you 'how hard he worked'. Ba does the same and he's a donkey who isn't Chelsea material. You couldn't make it up.

What's worse is that Torres on a lazy day makes Berbatov look like all action, energetic high presser.

People are desperate to find something good in his performances... After three years the denial is still there.

If you want him to justify his price tag that's not going to happen, but he can still be a useful member of the squad. He's our best striker atm, but that doesn't say much as all three of them are lacking goals.

We need to get rid of this cancer from the club. Im sick and fucking tired of him and all the excuses "well he worked hard".

I fucking hope we sell him in january or at least in the summer.. anything else is a disaster.

Yes he would come on give him that so often he is in that position but like Etoo cant find the net. I really think even he would have got those. We wouldnt have beat City last time without him being in that position.

That's harsh. His finishing was atrocious but everything else in his game was decent.

He's a striker. Even some of his passes were wayward.

We bought a striker out of semi-retirement at the age of 32 and he's not that good anymore. Why is anyone surprised? It's not his fault.

The problem is that we loaned out a hungry young striker a couple of days later. Eto'o isn't the problem, but he's a symptom of the problem.

Yeah, I agree with all you've said but I was saying to @Alex that what he said is harsh because the other aspects of his game apart from finishing (which is still one of the most important parts of a striker's game obviously) were okay so it's harsh to say that he can't do anything else.

And off-topic regarding Lukaku but Romelu has recently reinforced that it was him that wanted the loan move and that he asked Mourinho. Granted Jose could've stopped the move but I don't think anyone could've imagined our striker situation to be this dire. That's another discussion for another day though.
