Las7 951
Make of that what you will, but I don't think a 20 year old striker can really decide what to do unless the Manager has already told him he is not in his immediate plans. Secondly I think Lukaku has the right mentality and would have stayed and fought for a place here if he knew he had a level playing field. We had him on the bench at the start of the season and he was our in form striker but Jose doesn't fancy him just yet. The whole Statement Lukaku made recently about asking for the loan is PR by our Board, so we don't have egg on our faces and Jose is not constantly questioned why he was send on loan while our strikers can't convert any of their chances in the EPL. Here is quote from the interview - translated loosely:"I didn't ask for the loan, Mourinho decided it so I have to do it. This has been going on for 2 years but well.. That's life. The only thing I can do is play well and score goals to prove myself.I want to disprove that I'm not good enough for Chelsea, I want to finish higher than Chelsea with Everton and score more goals than the Chelsea strikers. In the end off the season we'll see who made the right choice."Now either Belgium newspapers are about as bad as English tabloids and make up quotes and entire interviews or Lukaku thought that no one would bother looking at his Belgium interviews or our PR team had not briefed him what to say. http://www.nieuwsblad.be/sportwereld/cnt/dmf20131007_00779440 Either way I think it's a big mistake by Jose to rate Torres and Eto'o higher than Lukaku considering their "form" but as Lukaku says lets see at the end of the season who made the right call. Sadly if we end up signing a big name striker in the next 12 months I don't think we would see him in a Chelsea Shirt after next year's World Cup, I hope he does so well that he is guaranteed a first team place next season by Jose himself. Maybe Lukaku had a chat with Sturridge about sitting on Chelsea's bench whilst a past-it striker gets multiple chances to prove himself? To be honest, if Chelsea won't give Lukaku a proper chance, I hope he gets sold. The loan spell to Everton was a good decision...but as I said before, the timing of the loan spell wasn't right. agbotek 7
It's not easy to be chelsea main striker . Lukaku is not yet ready to be chelsea main striker . He should be thankful for the loan move. There is alot of pressure on chelsea strikers, you have to have a thick skin to survive. Don't be carried away by his goals at everton or westbrom. The demands are not thesame as playing for chelsea. When torres missed a one on one against united during AVB s reign, the media almost made him commit suicide, but when Dimitar berbatov missed a similar chance nobody heard about it. You have too be strong emotionally to lead chelsea attack not to cry because you missed a penalty. Remember Demba Ba was on fire at newcastle , scoring like falcao but when chelsea bought him, he has been a shadow of himself, can't even make first eleven. Daniel sturridge on loan at westbrom deceived Emenalo with some few goals he scored, but when we brought him back , he couldn't replicate his goal scoring form. So give or take 2more seasons Lukaku will be ready. nachikethas
Merih 10
The way teams approach games versus West Brom, Everton is completely different from the way they approach games with Chelsea. Lukaku is enjoying a degree of freedom with these teams that he would not enjoy here save for the more open matches against the big teams. That being said he's making the most of his opportunities and deserves a spot at Chelsea come next season. So give or take 2more seasons Lukaku will be ready. He is not ready based on what? Are you saying Torres; Eto'o and Ba are ready to lead our line. Torres was finished when he arrived at CFC it took him 14 Matches to score his first goal. Berbatov managed 48 goals in the Prem out of 108 appearances and he was never first choice at United and have a whole team build around him; Torres has had nearly 3 seasons at Chelsea and managed 15 goals in 87 matches, he was basically our only striker last season for 6 months and look how that turned out. The reason there is pressure on Torres is because he continues to get picked despite his embarrassing form, when other players don't perform they get dropped - when Torres goes on a 24 hour goal drought we decide for him to be first choice striker the next season. Demba Ba had a decent run at Newcaslte, but the team was build around him, I watched him after the arrival of Cisse where he was played on the wing and in 6 months he was dire while Cisse was scoring. Ba was never good enough to come to CFC, he was a stop gap and his only chance to make himself first choice was scoring a lot of goals something he hasn't done and he would have been loaned/sold if the only bidder wasn't Arsenal. Sturridge scored 11 goals in the League from the League as a winger, which is more than Torres has ever scored in a full season for Chelsea yet Torres was first choice striker. Sturridge didn't deceive anyone he was by far our best striker last year but much like Lukaku he never got any backing during all his time at CFC other than a short run out of position before AvB got sacked.Lukaku will be gone after the World Cup if we don't guarantee him first team football, if anyone thinks he is going to wait another year for us they are kidding themselves. He is most likely looking at what happened to Sturridge last season where he didn't get a single MATCH ahead of Torres and unless some guarantees are made he will likely be transferred next summer after the World Cup. He deserved a spot this season, you are making it sound like Torres; Ba and Eto'o are very effective against teams that defend they are not. Popular Post! Wimbledonblue 94 Posted October 8, 2013 Popular Post! Share Posted October 8, 2013 Anyone else getting bored of this Lukaku loan saga? I have heard so many mixed reports about him asking to leave/ Jose asking him to leave etc. He is young, talented and undoubtedly part of our future. Just not this season.I'm getting tired of pundits lambasting Chelsea for letting him go. He scored against City (a goal which Lescott pulled a 'Lescott' and Hart should have saved) and yet, despite Everton losing and Chelsea winning, the only subject that Hansen and Co. could focus on was that of Chelsea's striker issues. I think it was stupid to let the kid go, but I trust Jose and that's that. Personally, I wouldn't care if Ivanovic ended up with more goals than Torres this season. If we keep on winning then who gives a shit? The Skipper, TorontoChelsea, Styles and 15 others

ZOS 580
what's done is done ... but we all know he wasn't given a chance, not a single start before he was shipped out, its really sad ... and guys saying 'he isn't good enough for chelsea yet'.. that aint the point, the point is he wasn't given a chance to show what he had to offer and we ended up with those inferior to him...I hope he does show he is better than all of our current strikers and I'm sure JM is man enough to stand corrected. The_Flash 1,144
I am so confused with this one minute lukaku supposedly says "It's unfair to criticise Mourinho for letting me go because it was my decision"Then today on sky sports it says "Everton forward Romelu Lukaku says he is determined to show that Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho's decision to send him out on loan was a mistake".Whatever we shoud just say everyone has changed their mind and we need a striker CODE RED!! Pissed me off that did, especially as two of our goals were brilliant. MOTD is a farce these days. Last week for example, when Vertongen pulled his Tom Daley impression which subsequently lead to the Torres scratch saga. Danny 'shitforbrains' Murphy totally ignored Vertongen's blatant dive and then actually praised him for staying on his feet when Torres 'scratched' him.Hansen, Murphy (and any former bin dipper that regularly features on MOTD) cream themselves at the thought of Torres and Chelsea failing. Gilvorak 3,734
Lukaku can fuck off. Hope he knows we're paying his wages. This is the same guy who's gone scoreless for us in 15 appearances.Tired of our moronic fans falling for the media narrative of us being fools for sending him out on loan to improve. Who cares what's happened? What's done is done now, support the players we have and stop moaning.Believe it or not unlike Sturridge who everyone hated until he started playing well for. Liverpool, Lukaku will be back next year. nadavTKL

Liverpool, Lukaku will be back next year. You can fuck off, Lukaku was told he was not needed and most likely Everton is paying his wages for the season. He has started two matches for Chelsea which means he has come on as a sub 13 times in his 2 years here. I've said it was a stupid call by the club well before there was a narrative about the fact. There has only been a bunch of Torres fanboys who hated Sturridge - a lot of people who doubted him but not hated him. Stingray 9,441
Lukaku can fuck off. Why? Because he wants to do better than the Chelsea strikers? Because he wants to show himself to Mourinho?I find that a great mindset, but I guess you cannot even start to comprehend that. Gilvorak 3,734
Because he said he wants Everton to finish above Chelsea. He's the next big thing and loved here but imagine those comments coming from Benayoun for example......wonder just how different the ensuing reaction would be.You guys are no better than the media who felt the need to bring up Lukaku in the aftermath of our 1-3 victory at Norwich on MOTD. No discussion about Oscar, Willian or even Mourinho's subs just a player who isn't even at the club.Rather than giving the media these OTT sound bites he should just focus on the job at hand on Everton and continuing his progression as a player. No need to burn his bridges here if he intends to return.
