kellzfresh 7,229
Not looking as bad as I thought we would be, if the referee didn't cheat us against Swansea, we would be even better placed. But we're still behind 4 teams, so hopefully we keep beating the smaller teams and try to draw with the big teams instead of losing. Speaking of the Swansea game, the referee thing is a bit disconcerting...I never gave it too much attention during Mourinho's time or before that, because generally poor decisions for/against us even themselves out over the season. Dodgy decisions like with Swansea, and even in the Hull game with the penalties can make you wonder. That episode with Mark Halsey speaking in the press doesn't inspire much confidence either.. kmk108 1,186
Personally, I'm really excited for an American to get a chance in the Premier League. I always respected Bradley when he was the USMNT coach. A little bit of background on Bradley: Quote For the average fan, of Swansea or other teams in the Premier League, Bradley is relatively unknown. Many will know him for little more than his stint as head coach of the U.S. men’s national team given that in the 2010 World Cup, Bradley’s team drew 1-1 with England in the group stage before being knocked out by Ghana in the round of 16. But that was six years ago. Since then, the New Jersey native has coached the Egyptian national team, earning respect for living in Cairo during the turbulence of the Arab Spring, and then qualified Norwegian club Stabaek to the Europa League. Bradley was then hired by another American-owned club, La Havre of the French second division, and nearly led it to the top flight last season. The Premier League is host to some of the best, most accomplished coaches in the world; inevitably some are unimpressed by achievements in Norway and the French second tier and who question whether Bradley has what it takes. But Bradley owns a resume — and more so a life story — worthy of respect. Those who have followed his career see no reason why he shouldn’t be able to cope with the pressure and the tactical challenges of the world’s most competitive and high-profile championship. Bradley, 58, may not have given a great deal away to those of us who covered his time as national team coach, but what was always clear was his intense attention to detail and dedication to preparation and organization. Even before he began working abroad, he was traveling to places like Milan to study coaches and their methods. “Bob is extraordinarily intelligent about the game, his work ethics is second to none, and the way he manages teams and deals with people are all outstanding,” U.S. Soccer Federation President Sunil Gulati told the Associated Press. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/soccer-insider/wp/2016/10/05/bob-bradley-blazes-a-trail-for-u-s-soccer-in-premier-league-but-he-could-get-burned/

kmk108 1,186
I'm sure it has something to do with it. There are going to be a whole bunch of new Swansea fans in America. We're a country that loves to buy merchandise and pay crazy ticket prices to go see preseason friendlies. Outside of that, there's going to be a ton of interest in Swansea and Bradley just from an American soccer standpoint. I'm sure most American soccer fans will be paying attention to how it all goes. He was our national team manager that was both loved and loathed, and here, it's the general consensus that he's a great guy, and great coach that has taken the long way to the "top". BlueLyon 9,359
Why Premier Clubs try to make more and more money each year with Tv rights, sponsor rights etc etc? I understand that with that they make their clubs more balanced and offer them money for things like stadiums etc. And even then, many clubs have gone down after big cash income. Aston Villa or Fulham for example. So the money is certainly not making clubs more stable or at least their people dont know how to run them properly. Same when comes to buying players, nothing has changed. If pl club revenue is 100m, european club will demand 20m for the player, if pl club revenue is 200m, europeans will demand 40m and so on. It all results in paying big money for average players. Instead of throwing more and more money at clubs each year, england should show english clubs how to spend that money and how to run youth teams... PL is becoming bigger circus every year, traditional clubs like West ham who produced some quality english players are now buying players because its easier. Tottenham are today perhaps only bigger club in england who works on english players and I have respect for that, despite I dislike spuds alot. Sad for english football.
