The last time our players talked up a player this much we signed him. That guy was Hazard. A repeat of that please

Well it's funny that you say that because I remember some members here saying they hate it when Barcelona players do it to other players from opposing team as it feels like their tapping that player.

But our players are doing the same thing.......

So the reality is that when you are in a big club the players from that club want their club to get better. As more better players means a better chance of winning trophies.

I think the main difference is that barcelona players say more inappropriate things like "I told X to join us, Ive asked X to join us, hes destined to be in barcelona, etc" im para phrasing of course.

Saying those kind of things is different to saying, that Rooney is a quality player, or if he signed he would be welcomed as reporters would ask players their feelings of player X and players got no other choice but saying they would welcome the signing.

Sorry but still the same shit to me.

I still feel that a player from a top club will do everything they can, to get a good player come to their team.

Like with Torres calling Mata many times telling him to come over to Chelsea.

Im sure, at least most are decent enough to not do it on public and totally disregard the club.

I think behind the scenes its abit normal for players to promote their club to other players, be it torres with mata, oscar to neymar, whatever.

I really do not want him, especially not for prices around 25-30 mil. He is over the top, already massively dropping in speed, which is essential for a lone striker. To play him as n° 10 is unnecessary: we have plenty of others for that position.

For that kind of money, we could have secured a younger striker with more potential, higher re-sale value and frankly, more excitement.

I am not saying that Rooney is not a good player: he has killer instincts, fabulous striking technique, a very good long ball too. Basically everything that's tied with kicking a ball (set pieces, passing, shooting), he is very good at. Hold-up play, transitions, etc., (movement): not so good.

So: as a squad player, sure, but not worth the money. Moreover, he only provides depth where we don't really need it (and there are positions where new players are far more necessary).

As soon as he signs for Chelsea I will be purchasing his top and all other generic Rooney merchandise that the CFC Megastore will create like they did for Torres lol

On a more serious note surely Wayne realises that CFC ..the manager , multiple players are talking him up .....how many united players are doing that for him ...all that has been said is he can break the utd goalscoring record by being 2nd fiddle to RVP !

ROONEY ROONEY ROONEY .....get em signed Roman !

A lone striker needs strength to hold up the ball, intelligence to make the right runs and the ability to lay the ball off and bring other players into the game.

I'm also not sure when Rooney had this amazing pace in his game. He's not like Michael Owen whose entire game was based around pace - Rooney has always been about technique, strength and power. I haven't seen any evidence of him losing any of this. What I see is a guy losing motivation. He scores 34 goals in a season, and United bring in Van Persie so Rooney has to play second fiddle. He's never really complained when he's been moved out to the wings, but it's mystifying why someone like Fergie felt he could just diminish his role so much without expecting a negative response eventually.

All this talk about Rooney by Mou and the players and it seems like we're def interested but I still don't think United would be dumb enough to sell to us. But then again, if he is leaving, there aren't really that many options other than Chelsea. So it's between him and Suarez. Suarez is def the better player, we walk the title if we get Suarez but I just don't feel comfortable having a guy like that on Chelsea. Rooney isn't a saint either, he's similar to Ash in that sense, seems like a nice enough guy on and off the pitch but the occasional stupid act drags him down.

I'd be on board with Rooney. I was for him from the start, even preferred him over Cavani (due to value).

Sky Sports News reporting that Wayne Rooney is 'angry and confused' over his treatment at Man United and open to a move to London.

I'm watching SSN now and they will be talking again about Rooney's situation soon.
