Lampard taking up the Hiddink role 😄

Have they realised that he won't actually be playing for the team?

I honestly doubt they’ve realised anything in their year of ownership. Just been making hugely stupid decisions one after another. Tuchel, Potter, Lampard, firing 2/3s of the staff here, hiring fucking musicians physios, trying to buy every player under the sun (particularly Mudryk for big money because Arsenal wanted him).

Hopefully at the games, the fans send them a message but I doubt it because of the sentimental value of Frank’s time as a player - like before when he was manager the first time. They’ve definitely done this to try and save face, doesn’t make sense to appoint him rationally.

Thoroughly embarrassed that this is the state of affairs we find ourselves in. Absolutely ridiculous.

If getting sacked at Chelsea & Everton both times for being thoroughly out of your depth and having the teams severely underperforming is the criteria for any sort of job here then we would of been may as well turning to Frank de Boer or somebody. Horrendous. Or get in Big Sam.

Boehly/Eghbali: “We are delighted to welcome Frank back to Stamford Bridge. Frank is a Premier League Hall of Famer and a legend at this club.
As we continue our thorough and exhaustive process for a permanent head coach, we want to provide the club and our fans with a clear and stable plan for the remainder of the season.
We want to give ourselves every chance of success and Frank has all of the characteristics and qualities we need to drive us to the finish line.”

Aside from putting their money where their mouths are, they haven't done anything to instill confidence or hope.

The rumour surrounding Mudryk's purchase seems more likely by the day.

No other way to put it - it is incompetence at the highest level.

Fans happy 🤣 they have done the exact opposite. You think the atomesphere was toxic under potter? What do you think it will be like under lampard? Also wtf is lampard doing, this is how you rip your legacy up l.

The thing is...did it ever get toxic under Lampard (at the Bridge), even at his worst? Can't recall.

My worry is that these owners will bow to fan sentiment instead of making the right call. Because they don't really know how to.

Hmph., so they're at least implying they have other people in mind for permanent head coach.

Wonder if that list includes Lampard.

“His worst” happened during lockdown. But I am 100% sure that no match going supporter will protest as long as Frank is there. He will be supported no matter what, until the end of the season.

For the love of God, just please don’t instantly drop Félix for Mase. Havertz either, for that matter. As horrifically inefficient as he is in front of goal he IS still seemingly our best shot at scoring recently.

I’m personally still really hopeful that we buy Felix permanently so Lamps coming in with Mase in his plans and dropping him would totally sour him on the idea of staying behind this season. And with rumors already starting linking him to United it would be annoying as fuck to see him haunting us for a rival because we pushed him out.
