Kind of agree. It's not exactly his fault that he's useless and in the end it's the manager that decides to play him but it really has gotten to the point where he should man the fuck up and tell the club he doesn't feel he's up for it anymore. It's not an easy thing to admit you're over the hill but if he cares about the club and his legacy here even a little bit he should do it. Gary Neville did it for Manchester United and retired mid-season when he saw that he was so obviously holding the club back. Ferguson wanted him to continue but the man just said enough is enough and hung up his boots. Pretty sure Ivanovic cares more about the paycheck to do that tho.

I think he is still the presence in the squad. You know the guy who you dont fuck with. The guy who trains hard etc.

Thats why he is getting selected over and over. Because he is professional. Its not that he doesnt give a fuck or anything. He probably still has hunger and desire to play and shows it more than Aina and others.

I fear this will be the case and we'll have been lumbered with yet another manager who comes from the school of thought that prioritises "balls, attitude, fighters" and other such overly emotional nonsense instead of developing a technically and tactically strong eleven. I hope I'm wrong.

I don't really buy this rubbish about Roman keeping a player in the team because he's a favourite of his. The only thing he cares about is results and I seriously doubt he'd encourage a player who's costing us a place in the champions league and therefore money to be allowed to keep playing simply because he likes him. The managers have a free reign on who they pick.

He gives Roman his arse and Roman gives him a job on the pitch even if he gets a red card and 5 own goals he'd still start. It really is getting pathetic.
