Potter reminds me of the Tom Hanks character in Big someone who's totally baffled by the situation he finds himself in a little boy in a man's world. Him and Boehly are a shit double act two talentless end of the pier pricks.

It is unlikely but it's not out of the ordinary. It doesn't take much for some of the teams below us to pick points off of each other and the odd point or win off teams in the top half of the table, and we start to get sucked in closer to everyone if we carry on our current form.

Lose to Leeds next week and we'll be 6 points ahead of them. They are currently 4th from bottom.

We have to find a way to start scoring some goals. If games were similar to the Dortmund one with regards to chances created I'd be content to feel that it would come, but we've taken 3 steps backwards from that since.

To be honest it's today that's turned me.

Not only are we still performing badly with almost all our players avaliable we've done it in a fixture we always turn up for no matter how bad things are around it.

The crucial thing is we keep the stability in terms of appointing managers who prefer a similar style. If we appoint Mou 3.0 I think ill become as close as I've ever been to giving up.

I definitely had sympathy for him at the back end before the World Cup break and when things restarted with regards to injuries because our list was incomparable with anyone else but there's simply been no kick on with returning players and if anything, it's now creating an issue for Potter to stick with a settled side.

The one positive is despite the results recently, I do think we've bought really well in January and a number of these players such as Enzo, Mudryk, Madueke, Badiashile will be better for this half season to become adjusted to the league. Bar a couple of positions, we're shaping up to have a really good looking, youthful side on paper that just needs the right manager in place.

I actually like Graham Potter - the way he comes across in the media, in interviews, he seems a calm, genuine human being.

However, it's clear as day when you watch any training videos, games, etc that there is a distinct lack of intensity not just within himself but in his backroom staff too. It's simply too nice and even when you have that type of manager with such a demeanour they usually have a coach or two in their backroom staff that carry that personality. For ones like Tuchel, Mourinho, Conte who show that type of intensity themselves, they usually arm themselves with a calmer head alongside them.

I'm very surprised that Potter hasn't looked at bringing John Terry into his circle, considering he's already working at the club - someone who could drive those standards of knowing what it means to play at Chelsea, that intensity, the experience at the top level. Perhaps its too big a personality for him to have on board, but having fulfilled the role he did at Villa, it does seem odd during these struggles that he hasn't looked at that.

Lose against Leeds and we are in a relegation battle. I cannot believe this guy hasn't been sacked yet. Todd B needs to take his head out of his ass and bring in somebody with gravitas before It's too late. If we go down into the Championship after spending 600m we will always be remembered for it... and If you think this talk of a relegation battle is nonsense... you need to give your head a wobble if you don't agree after watching our last 3/4 performances..... we are fucking horrible.... I would even say we are the worse team in the league... we can't attack for shit. Its beyond embarrassing already.. I'm still fucking fuming at what I was watching yesterday vs Spurs.

Based on the form in last 5 games, we ARE the worst team in the league.

Only team besides Palace without a win, and even they have one less defeat compared to us.

that would EASILY be the biggest collapse in football history

up until 16 days ago we were still the reigning FIFA global club champions

up until 9 months ago we were the reigning CL champions

if FIFA had not rammed in more old style FIFA World Club Cup tournaments before the new style starts in a couple years (they changed their minds as the 2022 (played in early 2023 due to the WC) edition was not originally scheduled), we would STILL be reigning world champions

imagine us relegated and playing in the fucking 2nd tier English Championship with that damn world champions badge on!

not to mention the over £600m new signing spend in just the last 8 or so months!

nothing like it has ever happened in top flight football history

not even close

it would be damn near club destroying for ages, as the revenue loss would force us to liquidate huge chunks of the team or we would be banned for violating FFP

FUCK

All his press conferences somehow showcase some form of self-pity.

This time he at least accepted full responsibility for the loss, but then he goes on to bring up comparisons with Arteta and Klopp (and not the first time. He started when we faced Arsenal this season).

Instead of spurring the team on, and saying that they need to be a lot better than they are, he moans about how difficult the situation is with injuries and new transfers, and how tough the 'moment' is. Some of these are true, but why adopt a defeatist attitude? No wonder his team are in the bottom of the form table. He's probably sucked the confidence out of the players.

He's basically kicking the can down the road., and the worst part is - I'm not sure he could improve the situation even if he tried.

Boehly and Co have badly misread the European football environment. They’ve come in, treated players like cattle (like in American sports you can trade players against their will) and given a young unproven coach a long contract.

In American leagues you can do this but in football, the club will get financially punished for it finishing below 4th.

Especially as we look set for 11th or 10th as things stand...

Ziyech from almost sold to permanent  start   in every game without  reason .

It's a madness. Nowadays we have 1 game per week. Ziyech starts them, while 100 million pounds(Mudryk and Madueke) sit on the bench. This week, they combined played 10 minutes. Ridiculous..

Even before this game, it was clear we are not making top 4.. Then why not build next year team? Start Ziyech who is clearly on his way out and benching new players.

The owners really need to get a grip on this situation. It all looks a bit toxic atm. If this isn't sorted soon e.g. Potter being replaced,  then this form will continue into next season.

He either needs to decide on short term just getting some results, or he steadfastly works towards the long term build which clearly wouldn't include players like Ziyech who was on his way out in January. Same with Auba, who now seems to be potentially back in the fold.

Mixing and matching is just leaving us in limbo. There might be a bit more patience if it was clear we'd moved on from some players and were focusing on the players that will be here next season and beyond but that isn't the case, which just compounds the frustration.

If we just need to settle everything down and worry for now about getting some results short term then for me the clearest option for that would be to revert back to a back 3 now we have most of our squad back fit. I watched United yesterday and a couple of times recently and they play to their strengths - quick, direct transitions on the counter attack. It helps that Rashford is in the form of his life, but I look at the likes of Sterling and Mudryk and there's no reason why we couldn't look sometimes to encourage a team on to us a little more and look to play in behind. We're not playing to the strengths of some of the players we have. When it takes 20 passes and 5 minutes to get the ball to one of our attackers and we wonder why they suddenly can't beat a couple of players instead of playing quicker and isolating opposition defenders.
