Vegetable 830
It's not much about skill, more about character. Sort of Cahill type player. Gallagher is hard working, modest and dedicated player who graduated our academy. If we don't need this kind of player, who do we need? I'd much more prefer seeing our academy in first team for better or worse (until they go haywire a'la Mount), than flipping our youth for profit and replacing them with meh youngsters from all over exotic corners of the world. As @Vesper pointed out, we wouldn't need profit from selling HG players, if only our owners wouldn't toss truckloads of money on players you don't need much footballing knowledge to see were worth maybe 1/3 of their price. Don't throw cash into shitter, you won't deseperately need to generate it from selling out our identity. Magic Lamps 11,692
I am by no means a Gallagher super fan but losing him would be catastrophic on so many levels. He is one of the few leaders in the squad (we virtually have none now silva is gone), he is clearly respected by the other players, he is a fan favourite, one of own, selling him would exacerbate the disconnect between owners and fans even more. He has to stay based on merit. Enzo, Latvia or maybe even caicedo are probably more talented but Conor has easily outperformed them last season. He is the embodiment of a working hard and fighting for the shirt, squad morale will suffer without him. Clownlake set a dangerous precedent that loyalty and blue blood is not valued at the club with academy graduates only being seen as cash cows. Then investing that money into buying duds for outrageous fees adds insult to injury Vesper and Blue Armour

Agreement sealed for Russian GK to join PSG from Krasnodar as revealed on Sunday. €20m package agreed, add-ons included. Contract until June 2029 for Safonov who’s set to sign after medical tests. Both of those players need to stay, rather than sell them to buy some injury prone player or some brain dead player like Disaster. For sure, if we are getting Bellingham and Silva to come in and replace then sure, but we obviously aren't. As for the overall positions, my areas of priority are: CB GK CB CF AM For me, Disaster and Fofana cannot be relied upon, Disaster because he is a complete and utter liability on the pitch and Fofana because of injuries. If Trev gets sold, then we can only really bank on Colwill and Badi but both of those players are green and had injuries as well. At GK, I think something needs to be done Sanchez isn't good enough and Petro is good GK2 level. In addition to this, it looks like we are going for possession football, which means both Sanchez and Petro will give away disastrous goals if forced to play in that style. After that, I think we need a CF and a RWF/AM. At RWF/AM I would go for Eze. Olise is the sexier player at Palace but he looks better in counter attacking situations so he can use his direct running, power and pace. Eze on the other hand has the better feet in tight spaces and workratte, for me Eze is the one that slides into the team easier and complements Palmer better. At CF I do not have much of a clue, for me we could ideally do with a Giroud type player from 4-5 years ago to help out Jackson. Gundalf 806
Is Mamardashvili even good on the ball? Ball playing abilities seem to be even more important than shot stopping for Marescas system. Fernando
Pizy 18,942
Not that o actually care that much about yet another teenager who may be years away from being first team ready, but I wonder what the deal is with Estevao. And then there's other clubs like PSG who could swoop in last minute (and it would make sense to get the next wonderkid with Mbappe no longer there). Fulham Broadway 17,331
Why Chelsea should sign Benjamin Sesko Along with his similarities to Drogba from a physical and stylistic perspective, the 20-year-old star is also a prolific goalscorer who has the potential to be a lethal finisher for the incoming Blues boss. The Chelsea target plundered a whopping 16 goals in 23 Austrian Bundesliga starts for RB Salzburg last season before his move to Leipzig ahead of the current campaign. He followed that up with a return of 18 goals and two assists in 42 appearances in all competitions for the German side, despite not earning himself a spot as a regular starter until the second half of the term. Sesko only started 17 of his 31 matches in the Bundesliga for Leipzig but still managed to rack up an impressive tally of 14 goals in his first year in a major European league.
