No, but it is the end of summer holidays for players and they’re now back in training.

So while City will have Haaland, Alvarez, Phillips etc, Arsenal will have Jesus, Viera, etc, Spuds will have Perisic, Bissouma, Richarlison, etc in training bedding in with their new clubs and working with their new teammates and managers, Thomas Tuchel will be waiting around for who knows how much longer with no new faces.

Every club will be much further along in their preparation than we will if we don’t hurry up.

To be fair we've got Gallagher and Broja coming back from loans, amongst a number of other players who may have the opportunity of breaking into the first team squad next season.

Gallagher and Broja on their own is £60-70m of talent.

Fair. But neither of those players will go straight into our first XI which is what we desperately need. Gallagher and Broja (maybe, if he isn’t sold) will be highly valuable squad players but they don’t elevate our best XI.

Rather have the right players in that miss pre season, than the wrong ones who take part In preseason

Let's be real, the only players who would immediately walk into our XI are Sterling and de Ligt.

So long as those two are in the door this week, with the main senior players joining also, we will be a fine position.

Why couldn’t we have the right players who were also in early? Like all of our rivals do?

The club deserve a bit of leeway due to the extraordinary ownership/board situation, but even then everyone expected at least 1 or 2 in by now.

Got to remember all transfer targets have changed. Your bascally going into the transfer window with no leg work done what so ever so we was always going to be behind. Every 1 we bring in this window had to start from scratch after the take over well, not even then because Conversations will have had to be held on targets etc etc, plus bye bye cech and marina. I get ppl are frustrated but this is not a normal window, infact this is probs one of the hardest windows we will ever have.

Spurs have just spent £60m for a similar profile of player. Why are they being commended for spending a huge amount of money for someone who isn't first choice?

Besides potentially full back/wing back options to add to Chilwell and James, I'd rather see us spend money on 2 or 3 players who, like you said, will be first choice additions.

Hopefully we can get Sterling and De Ligt over the line shortly and everything will calm down from there.

History has told us that if we are late to bringing in players we will struggle that season, and I don't expect this to be an exception with Tuchel/Boehly now at the helm.

Sterling and De Ligt need to get done. This week.

The odds have reduced quite significantly for Ronaldo to join us. I pray this doesn't happen. Not because I think he will flop or anything like that but mainly because we will then become Ronaldo FC and I don't want to have any superstar primadonnas such as him and Neymar in our team. I would rather us promote Broja than sign Ronaldo and continue with Havertz up front.

Unless Boehly wants us to go all in on a title at all costs next season I would be happy enough to get De Ligt and (Raheem) Sterling (if we can somehow hijack the De Jong deal to United then him too) and then reacess next summer when we have a proper structure in place.

Tuchel is too good a manager to fail at getting top four and with Gallagher, Broja, Colwill and maybe (Dujon) Sterling and Maatsen good enough to play a role to some degree or another that's a lot of added depth and fresh bodies.
