Emerson 15M

Barkley 15M

Bakayoko 15/20M

50M€ + 20M (gueihi) = 70M

Never getting those valuations. Apart from Emerson, all of those players have wages that no one else will match. At best we will get a loan for them where we do not have to pay there wages. Additionally, I suspect Emerson will be more like €10-€15m (if we can find a buyer.) We tried last year to sell him for £15m-£20m. And no one wanted him. Cannot see anyone doing that this Summer after he had two league appearances and has a year less on his contract.

Two appearances and a CL and Euros medals. Emerson is King of the Deadwood atm.

According to a latest piece by The Athletic's Simon Johnson...

https://theathletic.com/2708546/2021/07/18/Chelsea-transfers-haaland-and-rice-deals-stalling-but-can-ings-and-tchouameni-satisfy-fans/

- Club have to consider alternatives if can't sign Haaland this summer or next. Lukaku still admired but will cost more than £100 million, which is a lot for a 28-year-old. Kane also mentioned but unlikely to happen due to obvious reasons.

- A new name thought to be on Tuchel's radar is Stuttgart's Sasa Kalajdzic (who is 6ft 7in). Yet to approach Stuttgart and will take a lot to persuade them to sell after they raised £34m in sales this summer.

- Club might be tempted to get Ings if nothing else materialises.

- Yet to initiate discussions with West Ham about Rice. If the club do so, they could include Abraham in the deal to lower the fee as West Ham want him. But the club are also giving serious consideration to Tchouameni, who would cost significantly less than Rice.

- Club also thinking of recruiting a CB for the long term. Sarr and Ampadu will probably go out on loan again. Club have looked at several possibilities, including Sule and White but the latter is obviously moving to Arsenal.

- Club also looking for a third choice goalkeeper. Two under consideration are Wayne Hennessey and Marcus Bettinelli.

- Club also wary of the size of the current squad while trying to deal with incomings.

Surprised we aren't considering Vlahovic.

It’s kinda scary to think that our top scorer last season had only 7 goals (all from penalties and from a player who never score from open play) and yet there seems to be zero urgency to rectify our struggles in front of goal. We were like 99% likely to miss out on top 4 and were bailed out Bale (lol).

And has the reaction to that by the club to make sure something like this never happens again by quickly and decisively attacking the market for a goal scorer? Nope. Instead we seem to be hoping our coach can turn every struggling player from last season into a beast.

I mean, could it work? Sure. I 100% believe Havertz, Werner, and Ziyech will be much better. But not comfortable top 4 better and absolutely not sustained title challenge better.
