Kepa just hasn't got the minerals to be a top keeper and a goalkeeping coach can improve him but not to the level he needs to be. He's got no presence he doesn't command his area is always rooted to his goal line and the amount of times he's beaten by a long range shot or gets hands to the ball but can't prevent it going in is staggering.

Posters are saying left back, centre forward etc well a new keeper is also a priority in the Summer.

Spot on. I'd go for that fella who plays for RB Leipzig... Peter Gulasci. He is a top notch GK.

The guy that couldn't make it at Liverpool?

I'm sure there are better candidates around.

this is the consensus of targets

CF Dembele £60m

LB Chillwell £80m

Winger Sancho £130m

AMF/winger Ziyech £50m

DMF Soumare £50m

total spend minus either, NOT both, Alonso or Emerson sold

£340m <<<< cannot be done without selling Kante or dropping Sancho and rolling with Boga

sell Kante and it becomes a doable £240m or so as we already have £160m from player sales already completely minus Kovacic buy not counting the sales listed here so the total spend is £80m

but

A Better Alternative

CF Dembele £60m

LB Telles AND Gosens...... around £60m  AND this allows BOTH Alonso and Emerson to be sold generating £60m, so basically a wash

Winger Sancho £130m

Winger Boga £12.5m due to buyback

DMF/CB Declan Rice... this allows AC to be sold so a net cost of around £50m, I see Rice as a WC CB within a few years, our new Terry

DMF Soumare £50m

AMF Grealish £65m <<<< we NEED CREATIVITY, Mount doesn't cut it, and RLC is yet to be shown to be the player he was before that horrid injury, and RLC is not a number 10 type anyway

total spend minus the 3 sales listed

£367.5m <<< only £27.5m more but with better and more players

cost after a Kante sale, who can surely be sold now as we are bringing in both Soumare and Rice

£267.5m or so

total minus the already DONE or contracted sales revenue minus Kovacic buy that is £160m as of this minute

£107.5m, so within the £150m budget with plenty of wiggle room if some cost more than I listed

AND there will be other sales not listed as well

bottom line

Kante has to be sold no matter or we are never going to get the players all assume we will, starting with Sancho

Werner is still a far better option than Werner for the same amount of money and I hope that Dembele has what we need even tho I'm not sure...

Sancho is a must really, I love to watch BVB and he is just great, except he is a Chelsea fan and Englishman and he has a good connection with our youngsters.

LB, Chilwell still overrated in my opinion especially for that amount of money 80M is too much. Grimaldo is better than Telles if you ask me, Gosens really good but players from Italy are just not good enough for England and I think that he is poor defensively.

Bouendia is again, in my opinion, a better solution than Boga and he should be cheap if Norwich pulls some miracle and stay in BPL.

Soumare 50M, hah 20yo DMF, really I don't want to sell our best player (Kante) and to hope that some young kid from League 1 will be able to change him.

Declan Rice, Chelsea is like his destiny hahaha

Grealish, personally I really like him but still, I think that we should wait until the end of the season to see what RLC and Mount can offer us.

So, Werner, Sancho, Bouendia, Rice and LB

At least Werner, Sancho and LB, Rice maybe can wait for one more season and if Willian stays he can be good as back up winger for one season

Difference between not getting a chance and not being up to the grade. I'll repeat, there are better options across Europe unless we are just willing to settle nowadays.

Sancho is the priority. No doubt about it. Everything clicks with this signing and it makes sense.

If we do get it rubber stamped, will there be much money left going by rumours?

I did not put in Werner because, as is well known by all, I say he is not coming here, he is going to the dippers

Grimaldo is £20m more than Telles, but I could live with him and Gosens as our LB's

that said, IF you are going to spend Grimaldo money, we should buy Theo Hernandez, who is a better player than Grimaldo, and potentially the best remotely available LB out there, other than perhaps Alaba

Kante is not played as a DMF anymore so Soumare or Rice at DMF is not replacing him, Thomas Partey is only £42m with his RC, so he is an option too

Emiliano Buendía has ZERO goals, all comps

and will cost triple or more than Boga will due to our buyback clause

finally, it is simply not true that Serie A players cannot play well in the EPL

which is what you said

Most expensive transfers from Seria A to BPL since 2010

*Values are in Euros

1. Paul Pogba 105M - Flopped

2. Gonzalo Higuain 7.9M  Loan Deal- Flopped

3. Joao Cancelo 65M - Flopped

4. Alisson 62.5 M - Amazing player 10/10

5. Jorginho 57M - Average first season, but decent player 7/10

6. Mo Salah 42M - Amazing transfer 10/10

7. Moise Kean 27.5M - Flop (for now)

8. Antonio Ruediger - Same as Jorginho 7/10

9. Juan Cuadrado 31M - Flopped

10. Felipe Anderson 31M - Average 5/10

11. Lucas Torreira 28.65M - Average for now (a couple of good performances but very inconsistent and club results are poor) 5/10

12. Eric Lamela 30M - Good player but everyone expected more from him (injuries...) 5.5/10

13. Mario Balotelli 29.5M - Flopped (Man. City and Liverpool performances)

14. Patric Cutrone 18M -Flopped

15. Stevan Jovetić 26M -Flopped

16. Davide Zappacosta 25M - Flopped

17. Emerson 20M - Flopped

18. Alberto Aquilani 20M - Flopped

19. Aleksandar Kolarov 23.86M - Good one 8/10

20. Marcos Alonso 23M I will give him 7/10 just because of that first season under Conte but he was always poor defensively and had lack of strength

21. Dennis Praet 21M too early to talk about it

22. Pedro Neto 18.30M once again young player too early to talk about it

23. Mateo Darmian 18M Flopped, just not good enough 2.5/10

24. Mario Lemina 17.25M Flopped, just not good enough 2.5/10

25. Manolo Gabbiadini 17M Flopped

* 44M Andrii Shevchenko, 26M Hernan Crespo, 19M Adrian Mutu, 25M valued back in the days R. Quaresma all flopped

So 25 players 14 of them flopped 3 average transfers and 2 of them are still kids

Change my mind?

Emiliano Buendia 7 assist 3rd in the league, not bad and he is playing for fcking Norwich and if they go back to Championship the just could not ask that amount of money for him

‘He had everything’- Lazio star could fix Lampard’s biggest Chelsea issue

https://www.soccity.net/premier-league/chelsea/everything-need-lazio-strakosha-fix-chelsea-defence-kepa

keeper.jpg

Chelsea’s defensive problems have been very clear in the Premier League this season. They come to the fore in just about every game for the club and let them down. Goalkeeping issues saw Frank Lampard drop Kepa against Leicester City, but an error from stand-in goalkeeper Willy Caballero saw them get held to a 2-2 draw.

It has been a real problem area for Lampard- the defence. Many fans have been clear about they need a new goalkeeper about some months after they spent big on Kepa to sign him from Athletic Bilbao. If they do need another new man between the sticks, they should look no further than Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha.

Strakosha presents a case of a player who has been under-the-radar in the Serie A for a while now. At 24, the Albanian has established himself as a regular for a big Italian club and is also silently one of the goalkeepers in the league.

This season has seen the biancocelesti come close to challenging for the Scudetto, Ciro Immobile, Luis Alberto and Sergey Milinkovic-Savic have got loads of attention. But characters like Strakosha and defender Francesco Acerbi haven’t really got the credit they deserve.

The Greece-born Albanian has made 28 appearances in all competitions so far, playing behind a side that plays in a direct counter-attacking style of football under Simone Inzaghi. The Eagles usually see Milinkovic-Savic as a midfield target-man. The Serbian takes part in transitions, often finding himself with an out ball in an advanced position.

Because of that, Strakosha plays an average of 12.9 long-balls per game. In that regard, he has a 50 percent accuracy as he completed 6.5 of them. Strakosha is very good when it comes to short-passing. He has completed 15 short-passes per game this season, missing only 0.4 of them per game.

This season, he has made three saves per game in Serie A, with 1.4 of them coming in the penalty area. Playing behind the second-best defence in the league does that, but Strakosha’s strong build makes him a very reliable man between the sticks. He is confident in punching the ball and a tall frame allows him to do that.

His teammate and Belgian goalkeeper Silvio Proto has already talked of how he exudes confidence. Proto told LaLazioSiamoNoi: I’ve never seen a strong goalkeeper like him, behind a group with so much quality. The Albanian is young, big physically, explosive … He has everything you need to make a career at the top.”

That is very much the sort of goalkeeper the 24-year-old is. He’s brave and a complete shot-stopper in many ways. Like Liverpool’s Alisson, he doesn’t need to make too many sensational saves. His positioning and smartness is good enough to make up for that.

So far this season, Chelsea have underperformed on their XGA by a huge 6.27. When they should have ideally let in 27.73 goals, they have let in 34. Kepa’s inconsistencies have been a reason for that, bar the lack of a top-class central defender.

Strakosna or Onana would solve our goalkeeping issues and be realistic.

Strakosha was my number one target in 2018 after Meret was signed. I agree on Onana too. Flip a coin. Predrag Rajković rounds out my top 3.

I personally don’t think Kepa will leave because I don’t see anyone offering 45-50m for him.
