If these players buy in and give their all to Potter he can transform us. We have the talent in our squad. But if some of these big name, big reputation players think they’re “above” him, this could blow up and crash down in flames. If he can get a couple of early positive results it could go a long way. If the players buy in and give their all. That shouldn’t ever be an if but thats the problem here. We have guys in the squad who have CL winners medals, for some of them perhaps undeservedly based on their careers here and what they’ve done in the game and what they will have achieved when their careers finish, who will inevitably sour on another manager if they don’t play or get tough with them or sulk because they don’t want to be here. So I’ll put my neck out and say it, Graham Potter when he’s appointed will last a maximum of 12-18 months, get sacked when we hit a bad run or when the owner wakes up on the wrong side of the bed/has another bright idea and it will be the same again. If Boehly didn’t want to keep Tuchel he should of just said to him at the end of the season, told him he wanted his own man, brought in a manager who fit his new direction and given them a full pre season and the signings they wanted. Then they’ve got a clean slate, a man they wanted In place and they can build their infrastructure up and around them as well as giving the new guy some time to actually put things in place. In terms of his first big big decision as new owner, the signs do not look good and thats without mentioning he’s cleared out a whole footballing infrastructure, hasn’t replaced it and now has sacked a manager he didn’t want to keep because he was too arrogant or stupid or whatever to get rid of him in the first place, who he had initially said he wanted to give him more job security and responsibility in terms of recruitment etc as well as input on how the clubs infrastructure should be. Confusing, isnt it? Seymop and Blue Armour

laura90 556
Tbh I don't understand why they sacked Marina when they signed the same players she would have signed. Second rate or even third rate options. She was too attached to our deadwood? I saw some claiming we are not weaker team. Yes we are. From the CL team, we lost Rudiger, we lost Andreas, Silva is two years older and Mendy lost confidence consequently. Mendy thrived with our solid defense. It got the best of him. As soon it was clear Rudiger departs, in January, his form dropped and never recovered. Mendy has his flows, but he would still perform better with more solid defense. Our midfielders are two years older, and bar Jorginho, spend more time on treatment table than in the training.. Or midfielders, Kante, Kovacic, Jorginho are the shadow of the players they were during CL campaign. They needed to be replaced right afterwards, because they weren't perfect not ticked all the boxes. New midfielders, Connor and Zakaria are not on the required level either. We only marginally improved our attack but what is it worth with even weaker midfield and defense? Two years ago we had top four team. Today we have midtable team. 250 mil spent on, bar Cucu and Fofana, has beens and deadwood. milka 3,393
Graham Potter will bring his recruitment guru with him if he joins Chelsea. Recruitment specialist Kyle Macauley helped indentify Marc Cucurella and Moises Caicedo, Potter’s two assistants would also follow him to Chelsea. Gundalf 806
Kinda interesting that no player so far (except Fofana) has made a social media post about Tuchel.

Totally different. I didn’t see a team that wanted to fight to win last night, they basically rolled over and accepted that the game was done when the game got scrappy and that is something that has been labelled at this team before under Sarri, Frank and now Tuchel. Zagreb didn’t win because they outplayed us completely as we did create chances in the second half, they won because they actually tried, they ran, they won tackles, made interceptions etc you know the basics that this team has been criticised for not doing too well periodically. It is clear players have downed tools for whatever reason. Completely clear. If you don’t believe me, go and watch Hakim Ziyech’s highlight reel back. The guys performance was absolutely piss poor and exactly what people claiming that certain players have downed tools are going on about. He couldn’t of cared less. Mason, Kai, Kova are a few others who again were anonymous and piss poor from every aspect of the game. Would of seen more effort and fight if we put the u23s out v Dinamo last night. But again, when confidence is shot so goes form and hunger. Zagreb won because they believed in what they were doing. This can't be said about Chelsea for the past several months. bigbluewillie 1,930
Can someone tell me why English managers are shit, apart from Potter? There's not been a decent one since Cloughie and Bob Paisley, so what's that 30 40 years. English mangers have been, and still are a joke, compared to the rest of Europe. robsblubot 3,595
Confidence comes from good fitness and results. It's difficult to feel confident when you lose most 50/50s and the opposition is fitter. The team did not work hard enough and isn't prepared well enough and I have a good idea about the reasons for that. Sacking Tuchel was ridiculous to me.... is Pep or Klopp avail by chance? Henrique 9,133
New owner spent a lot of money on players that Tuchel asked, sold players Tuchel wanted out...6 days after transfer window closed, this same manger was sacked. As I said before, right now the club lacks short, med and long term view. Even for Chelsea standards, the timig of this sacking doesnt make any sense. Clockwork 1,794
Get over it Tuchel is not as good of a manager as some you think he is. People forget that he needed Leicester to bottle it very badly for him to secure a top 4. He is headed toward the RDM route, manage a few German clubs and get sacked. Complete obscurity. Neither is Rudigar, his form dipped toward the end of last season. He would have not changed anything. If you want to know what he would have looked like, just look at Mendy. People forget he was here for 5 years, only remember less than 12 months of his club football. Key word club because the regular Rudigar is average with German NT. mkh

Clockwork 1,794
Bravo TB, Tuchel had an immediate spark and was a great hire at the time. But it was clear as of last season, that he peaked and his trajectory was only going down. seriously if Tuchel wasn’t fired today, how else would have this ended? The only thing we would have seen is rock bottom. He wasn't capable of turning this around. bigbluewillie and The Rising Sun

Him not fixing, and quite honestly contempt, with the lethargic slow possession play for what seems like years. He's undoubtedly lost it. It's a shame though as he steered us through absolute shit last season. bigbluewillie and The Rising Sun
Pizy 18,953
The only plausible explanation is that Boehly is terrified of us missing out on top 4 and made a crazy decision super early rather than waiting until it’s too late. All these reporters saying the Dinamo result didn’t play into this but I disagree. I think it was the final straw for Boehly who was in attendance and watched the shitshow we also saw. After 6 out of 7 of the matches we’ve played were abysmal, to lose to a side we should have dominated in pathetic fashion was the death blow. The problems started in preseason and just continued. So Todd probably thought he needed to do something drastic. I don’t buy this “there has always been tension and unease in the relationship” stuff. Tuchel has always praised Boehly and as recently as a few days ago was over the moon with gratitude that he was provided with Auba and Fofana. This was Boehly thinking to himself “oh shit, I just spent £270m and we could miss out on CL revenue. We have to stop the rot ASAP.” Laylabelle
Nero 1,874
I was at work when I read about that news. I am absolutely speechless. 2 months ago it looked like Tuchel would be our manager for at least 5 more years. Thank you for everything Tuchel. Already a Chelsea legend.
