The Tuchel Thread

It's completely pointless at present replacing Tuchel when we've got no structure above him.

We need to sort out the director of football, scouting network, etc to map out a clear identity and direction for this club.

At that point then if it still isn't working out then Tuchel is then replaced. I think he'll be given some time to sort this out, at the very least until the international break, and more than likely through to the World Cup break. But by that point I'd expect everything above him to have been sorted and decided and if things are still as bad as this, he'll have very little excuses.

my prediction: Tuchel out and a known clown (of your choice) in to make everyone here happy.

Will change nothing of course, but changing managers is always popular.

Manager changes can be hit or miss.

Tuchel was the best case scenario when Frank was sacked but he's been figured out. Doesn't seem like the players believe in him and want to play for him. The great managers have a voice that resonates and last over time, I don't think TT has that.

It can be worth it just for mentality alone.

Tomo, famous member warned us to beware if Tuchel gets to choose his targets. I fully understood what he's meant this summer. I was very negative about all our signings. I never expected us to hit the ground running with them.

KK - average defender who looked good amongst pensioners. Old. Past it. Has been. On 295 000 a week. Somebody loves wasting money.

Cucu - back up to Chillwell.

Fofana - young , likable defender who suffered major injury. Wasn't aboard with this at all.

Sterling -  27 year old who has played in PL more than 12 years. Will be the best from the bunch, but another has been who has his best days behind him.

Zakaria - quite possible another has been who could have great career but was stopped by injuries.

I said before, we got rid of some deadwood only to make space for new deadwood. I really feel that.

Put in the mix Zyiech, Pulisic, Jorginho, Mendy, unreliable Kante we assembled ourselves nice midtable team.

To bad. New owners wanted to spend but we couldn't  land our prime targets and second options were yet again well below standard.

I agree with everything regarding the players, but I’m not sure how much this is down to tuchel himself.

it’s difficult to know whether they were his first or second choices, or what the club told him was possible.

plus there is the timing as most deals took place way too late and that affects the manager (not to mention fitness) ability to prep the squad.

speaking of fitness, all teams we play against look fitter and I don’t think that’s down to the manager.

I'm convinced half this team, or more, don't look after their fitness when they go away from the training ground. None of them look like they can bust a gut, they relied too much on Kante to do all the leg work when he was in the team.

A manager has finally been backed & we're going to excuse him?

I've been on that side before, but Tuchel has no defence this time around. Most of our signings were ones he wanted, with Raphinha being the one he might have also wanted who got away (Kounde was Marina's obsession).

I’ve seen a lot of Chelsea fans around the net suggesting Potter to replace Tuchel if he gets sacked. Why the hell would Potter leave Brighton during the season? They’re flying, above us in the table, and he’s built a club from the ground up. He’s probably backing himself to replace Pep or Klopp when they eventually move on.

If Tuchel goes we’re going to have to get someone who is currently out of work. Most likely be Poch.

But what about Bielsa? Plays extremely attractive football and with access to a MUCH more talented squad than he’s ever had at Leeds I wonder what he could do. With the exception of Jorginho, we have a squad that’s full of athletes who can play the ultra aggressive pressing game. I think he’s worth consideration.

Yes, because I don't have that information -- whether he's been backed or not.

The mere *timing* of the deals tells me he wasn't. The top targets were snatched up early on.

Who were these "top targets"?

KK was bought on the back of Boehly's knowledge of his time in Naples...

There's a reason he hasn't coached one of the top sides.

You guys forget Chelsea is not Real and can't just grab anyone they fancy; "Targets" and who we got, given circumstances are two different things and it's not quite Tuchel's fault.

We got pretty much best players we could (who wanted to come here).

Something is happening inside the team
it's not normal more than a month after the start of the season we don't have one good game

Our victories are hard fought or lucky  ( Everton, Leicester , West Ham ) .

The game is boring without a clear idea of what is being done in front of the penalty area.

The ball moves mainly back and to the side

Tuchel took a quality that now cannot arrange and chaos reigns.
