That is probably because they want to keep their options open. Given how we sack managers after few loses I wouldn't quite hold that against him. Every manager would say they would love to return to one club or another if a questioned. Even Hazard said he would love to play for Madrid/ under Zidane. Even Morata said he would love to go back to Madrid so what should we stop using him as our main striker? The problem with the articles and journalists is how they quote it out of the context. I mean some of them just use it a click bait.
The Skipper 20,609
On 12/03/2017 at 1:38 PM, Henrique said: Top clubs like United and PSG...what do you mean? So, if United and PSG want Player X, so we should also want Player X, even if United is a Europa League side, and PSG is embarrassing at top level? Its also very easy to understand why I said your starting XI is not any better than the current one: all the players you mentioned are U23 players, and this is NOT what this squad needs at moment, introducing FOUR U23 players into the starting team, and we are actually talking about a team that produced 4 mediocre UCL performances in past 4 seasons and was eliminated twice in a row by a not so special PSG team. The team you just posted is more likely to emulate the UCL record of the past seasons than "grow into a true European elite for the next 5 years". Just take a look at the biggest european clubs of past 5 years: Bayern, Barcelona and Real. They all have one thing in common: they went after (or kind of) estabilished stars in top european leagues (Bale, Modric, Suarez, Robben, Lewan, Vidal), in top NT sides (Neymar), or players who had a great performance in a top tournament (James Rodriguez). To other side, all the players you pointed are young players from mid tier european leagues. Perhaps they will be great additions, but definetely not the kind of players you want if you are thinking about getting into a UCL elite. We need more Diego Costas and less Batshuayis. Henrique, looking back, do you still think the team I posted up isn’t better than our current 11?

Unionjack 7,531
Fuckin hate our revolving managers door and would hate to lose Conte. I really like the guy.But I'm worried about his relationship with Roman. Roman seem to like keeping managers on a tight lead. But the only way I see Eden staying is if we take Zidane on and maybe he would fancy his chances with the managers in the top rank now. You can bet yer bottom $ that Roman has him on speed dial. But i wouldn't like to go back to a definite 4-2-3-1. What i like is we are training the academy in the same formation as the 1st team. How can we expect to bring up lads that are used to playing in one position to ask him to play another. The development squad just beat Shitty the other day they're on a good run. The under 19s sailing thru the UEFA youth league (only losing to Roma) And the under 18s 6 points clear at top of thier league. Great they smashed them pikeys 7-0! So we as usual got some great young players coming up and SEEMINGLY The Don isn't guvibg them an odd opportunity. Which at least with Ampadu is working out so far (I just touched wood =D )

xPetrCechx 13,571
Conte adds that it was a good performance and the defenders did well to guard against counter-attacks, but we must be more clinical with our chances. #EVECHE Really Sherlock? Our main problem, we cant finish. Against Huddersfield too.

Henrique 9,133
Conte 2017 version is easily the most boring, unexcinting and infuriating manager ever. Only Barcelona clash can save his conservative ass and his last century tactics.

Losing/Drawing to Brexit manager after Brexit manager. Bring in Allegri or Tuchel in the summer. Do you want Conte out because you're not happy with his decisions or match results? I don't mean this as a criticism of your opinion but just a general response to this 'Conte OUT' talk. Have seen many fans calling Conte to go because they are not happy with his decisions. Sure, Conte has made dodgy decisions in/for some matches since he's been here and deserves to be criticized for them but it's rather contradicting that most of us, if not everyone, has craved for some managerial stability, for the manager to stay at least 3-4 years and build something good but want him gone ASAP because of some decisions, even when results - over the course of the reign - are generally good. Every manager in the world makes dodgy decisions and no will agree with them all the time and each of them has their some flaws that may annoy us all to death but are we seriously gonna call for him to be tossed aside solely based on them, even when he's delivering good results on the pitch? It feels like we have been here many times before with previous managers. At this rate, we'll be just left with the Sean Dyches, Eddie Howes of this world to hire in the future. If Conte is making dodgy decisions and not delivering the results, then fine. You can seriously question his ability to lead this side to success and maybe sack him but he is delivering the results and given he won the title in his first season with a relatively average squad, would like to think that gives him some credibility/leeway when talking about sacking him. And I know this may sound cliche at this point but not sure if anyone else is capable squeezing out results with the current squad. All good talking about bringing someone like Tuchel in but we don't have the players to play his style and if we don't get players that's capable of implementing that, then we will just end with another AVB situation, especially when Tuchel doesn't do pragmatism and is not the best when it comes to organizing defences. His Dortmund side, for instance, tended to concede plenty of stupid goals and there's almost one every game. This is probably a long shot given how we have operated in recent years but genuinely hoping that Man City's dominance this season has given the board the 'kick up the arse' treatment and back Conte in future transfer window (windows?) so that we can sustain our challenge for the major trophies season in season out. Conte must be cursing his luck when it comes to transfers. Wanted more at Juventus but didn't get it and now experiencing the same here. He's been managing average squads, filled with some quality here and there, and not able to show what he can do with an actual quality squad. Give Conte the players that HE wants and see how he does. If he does well, then yay. If not, then we can start looking elsewhere. No manager is gonna survive here if they aren't given sufficient backing by the board. Laylabelle 9,535
That's the issue he ain't a miracle worker! Only so much can be done with this squad... It was obvious after the poor window its be a long window and whoever came in if he went would have the same issue. Some dodgy selection and sub choices but we don't have that player that can make a impact at the moment.. El P.
