Mourinho on those comments about Eto'o (the STs).

He also said the comment was obviously not good but was basically just a joke in a friendly conversation with someone not in the footballing world. Said there is no reason for Eto'o (or Torres and Ba) to be upset with it.

Here's the video of what he said...

Well Jose has done it again! On the eve of our CL quarter final, the media are focused on him and not the team. No pressure for the team. Why do the media get caught all the time. He really is a PR genius.

There's a time and place for everything and jose either doesn't give a fuck and he's constantly being an arsehole on purpose for attention or he just can't help himself. There was no reason whatsoever to make such a ridiculous and unprofessional statement in public when you know there are cameras and recording device and you are in an industry or position that demands certain level of professionalizm and less than savy comment and behaviour usually atttact bad press and unwanted attention (from the clubs prspective anyway). He's s great manager but his antics gets boring and lame after a while. Like be matured and professional for a change.

If it was an off the record comment, then he isn't in the wrong. If that's the case then you are fundamentally wrong about him making comments 'in public' when they wouldn't have been.

Either way, he's speaking the truth. He's saying what every single fan is saying and to be honest, it's really not an issue. Ba is a goner, Eto'o is out of contract and Torres is nothing but a dead weight at this point. If we could ship all three of them out in the summer then we'd be laughing.

He's also bang on about the level of professionalism of the reporter IF the comments weren't on the record. IF that's the case then it's massively unprofessional and possibly sackable.

Well said. Nobody knows what context the conversation was made in. Certainly the journalist reporting it didn't care and it was an off camera private conversation.

There is not one Chelsea fan who does not believe our strikers are struggling. He made his comment privately not publicly unlike the hundreds of fans on these public forums.

There is always the possibility, however unlikely, that Jose is not THAT upset about the conversation being made public... B)

It wasn't in public and he didn't know he was being recorded. When you are sitting down with a reporter to give him an interview, it's perfectly normal to chat with him before the interview since the operators spend 15 to 20 minutes setting up the cameras/lights/microphones and the person that is going to be interviewed just has to sit there doing nothing the entire time. I know because I've personally seen how it works before. It was a mistake on his behalf but to say he did it on purpose to get attention is nothing short of ridiculous.

Anything that pushes Torres towards the exit, even a little bit, is fine by me.

I'd like to echo that ^

Anything that pushes all three out the door never mind Torres is welcomed from me. They all need to go in the summer!

Hervé Mathoux, the chief editor of Canal Football Club, said about Mourinho: "We're fully comfortable with [the] interview. We're surprised by Mourinho's comments claiming it was off the record. The camera was located 50 cms, maybe 1 meter away from him. It was a tight close up. Discussion was informal, but it was held in the middle of a large group of people inclduing our cameraman. So there is no way Mourinho could ignore [the fact that] he was being filmed." [@JohnSinnott]

The quality and angle of the video does indeed suggest the camera was close up as opposed to being hidden in the corner and so it does seems strange that Mourinho would say he didn't know he was being filmed.

Why they making such a big deal about him saying we have no strikers.

WE DON'T!!!!

Everyone knows we have the weakest strike force of the top four.

Etoo might as well be 40 he's so rubbish.

We all know about Torres and Ba clearly is so bad in Jose's eyes he doesn't get a chance to show how bad he is.

A lot of drama over nothing, but they should not have secretly taped him. That's low!!!
