Henrique 9,133
Well, now Mourinho lunatics will blame the squad if we dont win the league. We already have some crazy people claiming Arsenal and even Liverpool have better squads. Its very simple: Mourinho is so special that if we end up in 3rd position it means the squad is only good enough to end up in 5th, and only Jose magic make the team climb 2 positions. The common sense is: we have the 2nd strongest squad in the league, you will find few people outside rival fans arguing about that. What I ask is: whats the purppose of a special one? If at the end of the day the team will finish in a position that a mediocre manager would be able to achieve? Why we praise the managers if in the end the quality of the squad is what really matters?Untill now, Mourinhos job has been inconsitent. For me Brendand Rodgers is easily the manager of the season. He is doing a miracle with that Liverpool squad.

How can Jose be inconsistent and Rogers amazing when Liverpool have also lost / dropped points to lower teams. Our squad may be bigger but all 3 of our strikers dont make one of theirs. Its hardly a miracle when you have two of the best forwards in the league. Dont understand your hate against Mourinho. We are in the best league position that we have been in the last 3 years yet you are nitpicking. laeth 527
Always takes a season to really bed in and complete the squad as the manager wants. Rodgers has had two seasons to drill his players how he wants and it's paying off; Pellegrini and Mourinho probably have the two best squads in the league and as such they are doing what it expected of them this year. Next year will be interesting, but I bet my bottom dollar Liverpool won't win it.

We already have some crazy people claiming Arsenal and even Liverpool have better squads. The ironic part here is that at the very beginning, the most that people expected with Mourinho was top 3 this season. Everyone thought it would be impossible to win the league without a proper striker and several other key positions that needed fixing. Go to the old threads about the first games between Chelsea and City, Liverpool, Manchester United and EVEN Arsenal and you will see EVERYONE was shitting themselves thinking Chelsea had no chance. Now here we stand, fully confident that our squad is one of the very strongest, our defense is impenetrable and we have the might to smash any team in the league. So, considering the squad we have now (with 1 or 2 exceptions) was the very same we had at the start, who was responsible for this status transformation? And the funniest thing is that we now have so much confidence in our team's abilities that when it fails to preform, we are quick to point the finger at the manager, not realizing he was the one who gave us that confidence in the first place. nachikethas, pHaRaOn, kellzfresh and 9 others
Popular Post! Chelsea Legend 11 4,062 Posted March 23, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted March 23, 2014 This. Some people don't like hearing doses of truth like that but the quality of football has been dire. I'm sorry but it has. Having said that though, given that we haven't been competitive in the league for a while now, I think it's fine that we're 'scrapping by'. It's unrealistic to expect Mourinho to take a team that hasn't consistently been performing well & expect him to turn them into this side that can pick up results while playing entertaining football within the span of 8 months. Moving forward though, the quality of football simply has to improve. It's not just for entertainment purposes but also because we've invested a lot of money on flair players like Hazard, Oscar and Willian. What's the point on bringing in all these skillful players only to display the football we did in the first half against Spurs? We're not maximizing their potential. So I think our performances this season has been fine given where we're coming from but if we continue to play like this next season, then yes that's a problem. We're in a financial position to be able to challenge for trophies while displaying quality football. Not having these excuses of " what would you rather have....champagne football or winning". Please, that's such bull. Finally someone gets it. This team is still evolving and for those who think Jose only does defense look no further than the team he assembled at Real... If you want to play pretty attacking football you need to instill those qualities over the course of a few years. And for the life of me you cannot play the most beautiful football when you don't have a man leading the line who can consistently finish. We are miles ahead of where we should be in terms of the evolution of this team and we haven't even begun yet! Solid TEAM oriented football, those of you who want to be entertained should ask Arsenal or Swansea fans what if feels like to be a fan of an entertaining team that never win. We are building something really special here, its to be appreciated not ridiculed... Jose is the master tactician he knows what it takes to win games and get the most from his players, be patient people. Why are you assuming I am a "hater"? Yeah, we are in better position than previous seasons, but it would be insane to imagine Mourinho doing worst than Villas Boas or Di Matteo. If you think our problems rely on the striker, you shoukd ask Mourinho why we dont have a proper one. We are still in a good position to win the league, because City has been inconsisten as well.

Popular Post! Jase 43,479 Posted March 24, 2014 Popular Post! Share Posted March 24, 2014 Mourinho on people saying his teams are defensive..http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/mar/23/jose-mourinho-chelsea-arsenal"This is a funny story because I have the record of goals in the Spanish league, the record of goals in the Italian league, the record of points in every league I was in," Mourinho said, his hackles raised by the implication his teams have taken pride in solidity as much as pizzazz in the past. "I had players winning gold boots and being the top scorer in the country, even in Europe. I really don't understand where it comes from. If you say my teams have a lot of clean sheets, I say yes. But a lot of clean sheets doesn't mean you are a defensive team. It means you defend well."If one day my team is really defensive, doesn't play football and my team doesn't score goals, I think it is fair to say my team is a defensive team. But when the numbers are there, and not just the numbers but the way you play football… Some coaches have the stamp for attacking football, but why? Look at the numbers." darrus, ZOS, HD3D and 2 others
