The Mourinho Thread

he was supposedly very close to his loan move to boro before the pre-season.

i am guessing the luis situation has put a stop to everything. luis wont be officially sold unless baba is done and ake wont be loaned unless baba is done too (just so we have a back up under the worst case scenario).

also, i remember jose saying that ake will be loaned out this season (maybe towards the end of the PL or the post season friendlies). so maybe he does not see ake as a real replacement right now, which is a shame.

Ake is not fantastic at LB but since Dave is going nowhere any time soon he can easily absorb Luis' role in the team - I'd be surprised if we buy Baba.

Plus in worst case scenarios he can probably do a better job in midfield than Zoum Zoum can.

agreed. i think we ake can take luis' minutes,

though honestly speaking, i wont be surprised if we buy baba.

Well I believe the attitude of rlc might be because of Mourinho hyping him up before....

But it's all good, I think the kid can come thru.

Hi friend!

Yeah, maybe he has a lot of pressure now after the words of Jose. But this guy is chosen and he has a huge to go far with us features, but has an attitude / behavior at times that maybe he has to change.

I wish that he and Jose can understand each other well and RLC understand that the words of Jose are mind games to motivate and Jose does not press him too hard.

I hope this guy does not get lost along the way ...

Regards.

could the new stadium be behind all this? I wonder... tough times ahead?

We had to do it sometime, why not now when there is not any big trouble to our title campaign, after some years United and City will have a settled squad and if we don't build the stadium we won't be able to compete with them financially, a new stadium should be a priority right now.

We need a faster, and better midfielder with strength than Mikel for the big games.

It's unacceptable to play with that low quality against champions League level teams.

We should stop this joke of not signing any midfielders before its too late. Or else we'll turn out to be local league champions like mancity while being shite in Europe.

Think next season in big games our tactic will get found out because we do the same thing over and over again. It is like tiki taka, eventually teams will counter it.

Atleast tiki taka was revolutionary and significantly harder to master and execute. The irony is that some people have labelled Pep one dimensional for his tiki taka philosophy but on the otherhand, Jose who only knows how to park the bus against big teams is the tactical genius.

Secure him on long-term contract but please let's add proactive, ball-playing centre-back and some good CM who can pass forward and be compatible with Matic when inevitable he's put into the squad in every big game. It's crystal clear even for unarmed eye and yesterday just brought the same vibes like from every game Chelsea played last season against good, pressing midfield.

And get shot of Cuadrado.

Mourinho is the only manager to have a key player like Dave playing the full 90 2 games in a row in a preseason.

Yes but I remember when Azpilicueta came back last season and straight away played 90 minutes and Mourinho said on Chelsea TV "Every player played 30, 45, 60 minutes apart from Azpilicueta but he has different physical body". Azpilicueta is ultimate athlete in Chelsea squad even better than Ramires and it seems he can play full-stop. When you see he's pressing the opposition in 88th minute don't tell him to stop ...

I don't agree with you.

You can pretty much state that it gets found out, I don't have a problem with that, but stop putting a "Park the bus" label on every performance you don't like by Chelsea.

Did we park the bus against Tottenham ? No. PSG in the CL ? No they were just better, and we could've won it bar 2 minor errors on set pieces ( unusual thing for us ).

Still, we lost those games, I know you can get the feeling we don't try enough when we are outplayed by the opponent, but we aren't Bayern/Barça/Real, we aren't the type of teams that dominates every opponent on the midfield, sometimes we just find better than us in that aspect of the game.

So I don't think we should call it "Parking the bus", Mourinho's method is way too known to be called like that, he's just adapting all the time to the situation, yes, this is his philosophy, he doesn't go proactive all the time by all means, when he senses that we have a weakness to an opponent, he tries to bring in a defensive answer ( Zouma against Spurs is the perfect example ).

So, we can't compare the two methods, Tiki Taka ( which hasn't been found out, it's just that 2012-2013 Barça didn't have the same workrate to implement that model ) and adapting your game plan to the opponent and to the difficulties you face.

So? What's wrong with that? If Mourinho doesn't think it's a problem then it isn't a problem.
