It's a shame they didn't go unbeaten in 04/05. Can you imagine going unbeaten and not winning the league...Would be nice to reach 90+ again. It's definitely possible. The Skipper 20,609
Ancelotti was given an ageing squad, but yet managed to produce the best football of any manager in the Abramovich era and win the league and cup double. Abramovich and the board didn't rejuvenate the squad in his second season and it cost us. Instead Torres was forced down his throat. Actually, Ancelotti himself pushed for Torres. The Skipper 20,609
I'm not even trying to defend Ancelotti, but it's ridiculous for some to lay all the blame on him for that 2nd season. He had his problems as a manger. My point is, the board simply didn't back him in the summer. EVERYBODY knew we had an ageing squad. When things started to go south, we then wasted over 80 million pounds on Luiz and Torres in January. Both panic buys. I just googled that 2010-2011 squad. It was a 70ish point sort of team. Nothing more. I remember there was a time even McEachran looked our best midfielder. Ancelotti did the best he could with what was an ageing squad. Mourinho is doing what he's supposed to do with the best team in the league and with no competition from his rivals. But it's Ancelotti who gets blamed? Also, Luiz was incredible that season, JT even said he'd be our next captain at the time...Torres was pushed through by Ancelotti and Luiz actually helped us when he came in. Can't use that as a stick to beat the board with.

duren batu 15
Listening to media saying how adaptive we are, i had a thought.....well more of a dream team to be honest, it would be the greatest team of chelsea's history, really more fun to think about than expect to happen! But, could you imagine Jose building a team which could play in a similar way to all of his great teams? the machine like efficiency an direct ruthlessness of his chelsea 2004-06the unbeatable defence of Inter with a midfield of counter attacking prowess. the glitz and aesthetic of his madrid title winning team. Thing is, im not so sure you have to really sacrifice one for the other (within reason)?i think your defence needs to be able to play both deep and high pressing?your midfield needs to be athletic and powerful (chelsea midfield) have the defensive screening of cambiasso (matic?) and have someone to control possession and be good at starting counterattacks (dont think thats cesc, but i do think Koke)Hazard gives the spark, the magic in attack. Costa can be dynamite and ignite a game that much more through confrontation, but we need another attacking theat. i think we need a winger/striker. someone who can play the role malouda/anelka did for us, etoo did for inter and ronaldo for madrid. ?such a team would win the league three times in a row very unlikely to happen though, i think we'd still have to redo at least half the team?what would be your dream mourinho team?I think that's mou aim. To make this team an adaptive team.
