Ba, scored two goals that were identical. Ramires had beaten two players and had only the goal keeper to beat with a curling shot. Torres also beat two players and tried to shoot afterwards from a similar position no one is making a fuss about that.

13th second Hazard is there and waiting for Torres to square it back to him, he doesn't he tries to score - which is normal he was in a good position but the defender got there just in time. Yet no one is talking about him not allowing Hazard to score and tearing him to shreds the way I've heard people blaming Ramires for not allowing Torres to score.

15th second look at his position, to say that he was in a bad position to score from there is simply untrue - sure he could have squared it to Torres but I don't understand why people bring that up. He had setup a chance for himself and was in a good position to score the goal himself.

Haha more like you having different standards when it comes to Torres and other players.

When i was watching the game i honestly didn't even notice Cahill was there, this is the first time i've seen the highlight of that chance, and perhaps Torres could have passed.

But for the Ramires chance it was obvious Torres was in a better position, not just even a better position, wide open with no one close to him.

everyone seems to think the same thing and normally that means we are right! i dont know why hes not playing. he looks really good. even if it is on the wing.

the only problem with playing sturridge on the wing means not having hazard/mata/Ramires?/Marin? on the pitch. Mata does need a rest, so i see it as a great time to give him some game time so he can prove he deserves more football. I would love to see him get some time in Torres' position, i've not seen him play as a striker recently.

if he goes on a free at the end of the season i will not be happy!

As the above posters mentioned, Sturridge probably won't renew his contract (for which he only has a year left). The club won't be able to promise him first team football, and they won't exactly be 'throwing' money at him in this climate.

Sturridge has two years left on his contract and is currently earning £65k a week . I thought he was fantastic last night, I've been a fan of him since I first saw him play in his brief cameos under Ancelloti. He's probably the most talented English forward of his age, I think he gets overly critised in these parts, his play can be immature at times, but this is essentially his second season as a full professional at the highest level playing in an unfavoured position and he is still only 22. I'd be very sad if Chelsea loses him to one of her rivals, his situation is so reminiscent of Arjen Robben when he was a youngster at Chelsea.

I don't think it's either. I believe it's more with it being his natural instinct as he's a striker. Plus I think that AVB instructed him to shoot as often as he could IMO. It's what inside forwards do.

Currently we can't offer him enough first team football to keep him happy and there's no way he is renewing his contract if he can't get a game because he knows he'd be a starter for most Premier League clubs. We can't afford to let him go for free next year so if he's not signing an extension, then we really should be looking to sell him in January at the latest but this transfer window would be even better. I'm not saying I want to get rid of him but the board need to do the sensible thing here and solve this thing by the end of next week, one way or the other.

If we buy nobody else this wondow, he WILL get enough first team games no doubt about it, Torres aint exactly the DDA and capable of playing 50games IMO. he (studge) will play enough games, if he takes his chances RDM will be given no chance BUT to play him and extend his contract, but with one yealr left i understand the caution that many people have. i believe in Studge and think he will ultimately stay and make best out of his chacnes. that just me.

Its not realy worrying, if Studge is out, we'll have a new CF. Anyway i prefer that he'll stay and fight for Torres's place.

According to this Mirror article and a few other on the Daily Mail, his contract runs till June 2014. There would have been a storm of articles and rumours linking him to other clubs if he had just a year left. Even if he was to leave in a year, Chelsea would have to receive compensation from his new club as he'd still be under 23. I'm pretty sure contract negotiations to extend his contract would begin this season.
