I promise, if someone deserves criticism I'd be the first to admit. Hazard is far from the finished articicle, he has flaws he has to work on. So what, we're supposed to play him and praise him no matter how he plays just because his name is Hazard and he is 22yo? I like Hazard, but any player, no matter who he is, should be constantly fighting for his spot. If he under-performs for 2-3 games in a row then he needs to be benched. But the fact is that, overall, taken his all games into a consideration, he hasn't exactly been on a first team level for us. I agree that we don't have anyone to replace him, but that is some other topic.

The same goes for Oscar, he has been good only for a few games, but overall he also wasn't on a first team level.

I'll repeat myself again, I know it's their first season here, but taking only their performances into account, it wasn't that good.

I think Hazard could be great for us starting from the next season, and Oscar in maybe 2-3 years time.

I do praise him. I just said in that very post you quoted that I like Eden. It's just that every little criticism, even when it is completely valid, triggers some kind of defense mechanism in some members here.

Yes he's had a decent season so far, but that means that there are lots of areas still that needs improving. He is Chelsea player, we as fans have a right to point out his errors.

Yes he should be benched if his dip in form continues. But I am more reluctant to call for Mata to be benched is that even off form, he still offer a lot. Take the last game against stoke, I didn't think Juan had a particularly good game, but he still ended up with 2 assists and a hand full of key passes. Can't say the same about Eden.

I think it's important to reflect on the fact why he was not performing well. Is it just because of him? Not in good form? Not willing to improve? I don't think so.

Those games where he was not performing well are those where the whole team wasn't performing well or our tactics/formation just didn't work. Most of the times.

Sometimes I had the feeling he didn't get the ball enough. He made runs but nobody noticed them.

You just have to use this player properly, he isn't a 100% natural winger like Bale. That's why I think playing MAZACAR (with Hazard and Oscar -both not wingers sensu stricto- on the wings) doesn't work (yet).

Well before this all got a bit.. out of hand ( ), Henrique did have a point. Not expressed all too well, but Hazard isn't the player that we were made to believe. Well, he hasn't grown into that player, I think everyone can agree on that.

In his last 2 games he's shown a bit more of what he was supposedly doing for game-upon-game in France. I've actually been pleased to see that before this Rafa was benching Hazard and limiting his time, because he wasn't making the impact he should be making at present. The trio of Oscar, Hazard & Mata sounds great in a FIFA 13 game, but they can't play together yet.. They haven't matured.

Hazard is showing flashes off what we've been promised, but as of now, he's still a player that needs to show a bit more or be benched.

Neymar perhaps is the only u21 player worth more than 25m english pounds, but Chelsea is now paying a lot of money for these young players, and you cant even criticize them, because someone will say: he is only 21 years old. Ok, tomorrow the club will pay 35m for a 10 years old boy, and some forum member will say: lets wait 15 years to see if he is worth that money.

The most annoying argument is: "the guy is only 21". Dont expect me to judge him as a young prospect, when his price tag suggest he is already one of the 15 best players in the world.

Big players have all been young talented kids once. They got better because there were people who trusted and believed in them. By playing and trusting the stars get born, there is no other way...

The truth is: Falcao, Zidane, Messi, Ronaldinho at his peak, Cristiano Ronaldo and other great players were a bargain, or were bought when they were just kids and for a bargain as well, then they became great players. What does it means: you dont pay that kind of money for "potential", or because you see a "young talended kid".

I actually think have a point here, however, Hazard didnt determine his value, the market did. Ever since Zidane stated that he would like to see him at Madrid, his pricetag soared. I dont see how you can fault the player for that..

As for his wages, according to Belgian press, he makes about 130k, euros.!. Witch would be about 30% more then wat he made at Lille, and nowhere near the figures that the English press have been spreading...
