David Luiz

Cahill and Cole didn't cover themselves in glory that time either. Their lack of communication in that situation was probably one of the worst I've ever seen and resulted in Cahill tackling Ash, lol.

Yes, I know. It was hilarious.

But still, the goal originated from Luiz's mistake in the first place.

There's often talk of "Why can't he play for us like he plays for Brazil?" but I actually think he plays better club football than he does international football  He seems more passionate with us since in our team he's one of the guys, whereas in the national team players like Silva, Neymar, Alves, possibly Marcelo and so-on are held in a much higher regard.

I'm happy with him.

The surplus Luiz adds in general play vastly outweighs the occasional lack of judgement. By the way ... as a Belgian .... Kompany and Verthongen also do that. Still!

The difference between Kompany and Luiz is, in my opinion, Kompany loves defending whereas Luiz is a frustrated midfielder.

Players like JT, Tony Adam, Kompany and Vidic could score a hat-trick of 30-yarders and the highlight of their game will be a near-post clearance or a crunching tackle. Luiz loves to bring the ball out and hit those shots, but there are plenty of people (me included) who really don't care about that side of the game. It has it's moments, like away to Fulham, but I'd rather have the guy like Chiellini who loves to dominate games from the back.

Can he be the guy who plays next to that dominant CB? Absolutely, but if there are offers on the table for close to £40 million then it's very hard to say no.

True ... he had to learn that though. Vincent was waaaaaaaaaay to offensive back in Belgium and Germany. He was even played out for the NT in the midfield , quite like what is happening here now with Luiz.

I can see him operating with a dominant CB and easing into a CB role. Also, I think the discipline Mourinho is going to demand of him will settle in .... so I hope :-)

company in his first few season in england with city played in midfield as a holding player couldn't get into the team until he was turned into a CB and now you see he is a ball playing CB

: Daily Mail reporting that Chelsea PSG agreed a 45m€ deal for the transfer of David Luiz , but it will be confirmed after the #Confeds Cup

That is a lot of money. Is there a centre-back in the world who we couldn't sign for that much? Varane? Mangala?

I've said it before, but £40 million for any player who isn't part of the spine or isn't someone like Hazard is a bid worth considering. If Jose doesn't fancy him then a €20 million profit is fantastic business.

There doesn't seem to be any reports of that on Daily Mail's website...
