What I really love about this guy is that he's very simple yet so effective. He moves the ball to the right direction, making our attack flow really well + gives an amazing pass every few minutes.

No unnecessary dribbling or sticking with the ball, he gets the ball and passes it where he should.

I like the fact that we are less dependant on Mata than we were last season, now he's only a very good player who massively improves our game.

We could play without him but I'd rather have him in anytime of the day.

no, I agree with what many people here said, Jose was trying to improve Mata so that he is a complete player (i.e improve his defence so that he's an even better asset in the big games [such as tough trips to Bernabeu, Camp Nou, Allianz Arena, Signal Iduna Park, Juventus Stadium etc]). Also Mata will now feel more pressure. I know he deserves a regular place but some players thing that they have a spot in the starting XI for granted. Even though Juan is an angel, at least Mourinho has sent his message across to the entire team, that no matter how good you are. IF you play shit, you won't play.

If that was the message he's sending, then there is clearly a contradiction in it. Cole and Hazard for instance haven't been playing well this season and yet they have started almost every game..

Agree to disagree I supposed but Cole has been under-par this season. Not offering anything going forward, not that he has contributed anything big in that aspect in the past few years, and defensively, he has been rather shaky. Still has some moments but producing more bad moments especially when he seems to be getting skinned all too easily these days by wide players.

I am sorry but i totally disagree i am not sure you have been watching the same games perhaps you have been watching these 'made up games where Eto'o still has it as a striker.

I'm sorry but Cole has been immense this season, really goes for every ball and would definitely be on my team sheet each werk. He really is a smart player and really put his body out there in defensive issues.

cole has been an absolute shambles this season. except for the bayern game he has been poor, not even average but downright poor.

in attack he has hardly supported hazard, and has constantly struggled to track back and match the pace of the opposition wingers.

against everton, naismith had to score, against basel salah had to score. townsend owned him in the first half against tottenham.

he has without a doubt been our worst defender this season.
