If Everton don't accept a British transfer record sum for Rom, they are stupid. They were stupid not to accept 40m for Stones, who is only a moderatly  above average player, last season, too so I could imagine them trying to keep hold even though he will never command such an inflated price again.

It seems like City will buy Stones for £50m so they won't be losing out there, but I seriously can't see any team bidding close to £70m for Lukaku next season... except us again maybe!

No, please. Capable of becoming a very good striker at best in a few years. Never world-class and never ever elite. Ridiculous money for a player of his calibre as well.

I'm convinced he would've shunned Chelsea if other big clubs wanted him. Utd and Arsenal need(ed) a striker and didn't go for him. Same goes for Juve and Atletico. PSG could've used a striker but no. Remember his father talking about the likes of Bayern but it didn't quite happen.

Nothing against Rom and I was happy for his personal succes at Everton but I just don't see how he makes the team better. Morata has a bit more to him for me and I wasn't a fan of that move either. I'd rather be patient and wait for a true world-class talent and spend stupid money on that player if needed.

Honestly, if we are insistent on giving money to Everton this summer id rather it was Stones.

Im convinced he will be world class, the fact we already have Zouma and Andreas is the only reason I'm not madly campaigning to get him.

When selling Lukaku to Everton, Chelsea put a clause in the contract which states that if he moves to another club for more than £28m and hits certain appearance and scoring targets for Everton (he did hit them!), Chelsea gets % of the transfer fee. We're using this clause now to demand discount. So we actually always pay less than it's said in the press, that's why Everton want more money, because they owe us some of it and will not get the full amount.

Deals are going to start triggering others anytime now I reckon.

Sane to City, whilst he isn't a forward could well trigger Bony to Everton for Romelu Lukaku replacement. Stones to City will happen once Everton agree with Swansea for Ashley Williams and so on.

Season is just around the corner and things will get hot in the coming days IMO.

Crazy amount of sheer experts in this thread. Makes me wonder when will top clubs start to approach some of you since your scouting knowledge is so vast and you can predict a player's trajectory only by watching shitty streams and match highlights.

Conte wanted him once, wants him again, Lukaku is a Chelsea fan, wants to come back to the club and play for Conte. What is wrong with that? He's just turned 23 and is probably 4-5 years away from hitting his peak. All this while scoring for fun at this age. And it's not only about goals, but he's even assisted more goals than our supposed playmaker, the untouchable Oscar. And some of you still think Oscar should be given ANOTHER season to prove his worth, while Lukaku is bashed from the start because of his poor touch and gestures lol...
