Fernando 6,591
So people don't want to sign the homegrown Rooney, 27, for £30 million with a proven EPL record as he is too old.Instead, people want to sign an overseas Falcao, 27, for £40 million+ (and knowing how this club is run, that would also see Courtois fuck off for good) who is totally unproven at Premier League and Champions League level.Okay.Similar to torres. Epl experience but in decline. And look how woeful torres has been. I'm still scared of another torres situation.

United aren't stupid...if they had to sell him to us...they'd certainly ask for a Torres-like figure.

AndersonBLUE 819
He's one of only 3 players in the league this season along with Mata and Walcott with double digit goals and assists. And that's whilst playing out of position and having to share the field with RvP.He did just come off of a 30 goal season as well. If he is played where he should be up top with great service, he'll be back to his best. Especially under Jose potentially.Pfff dunno dude, he has just bumbled along as of late, never saw the fascination with the guy. My personal taste but much rather him stay where he is or go somewhere else that aint here.

My opinion on Rooney; If we can get him for under 30m£ its a buy, otherwise id rather go with Falcao or Cavani. If Lewandowski would want to play at Chelsea i wouldnt say no. gary gordon 1,777
Rooney, like Drogba is one of the best finisher's in the game. Dangerous in the air, from distance, good reader of the ball from the wings and deadly from the penalty spot. For the right price (25-30) i wouldn't think twice.Anybody that's worried about his loyalty to United, do you remember him at Everton? Nobody would have thought he'd leave after watching the way he carried on..
laeth 527
I'd have Rooney here without hesitation; he needs to get some more disciple - but as he gets older, he should stop getting rat arsed and shagging hookers quite so often .

Tomo 21,751
What is it with us signing players when their finished? The last time he kicked up a fuss about wanting to leave United i actually wanted him here, not this time. He has been very, very average all season and its obvious to every one he peaked too soon and is in slow decline. At times this season (Real Madrid away) he has been absolutely out of his depth.Lets learn from the Torres situation here and bring in an actual world class forward. Pizy 18,985
Don't think he's finished, though. You don't score 30 goals one season and just fall off the map. It's not like he's been useless this season. If he was played in RvP's position all year like he's used to he would've racked up his usual haul.

bushman 2,043
There is no such a thing as comparing the Shrek to Torres.Rooney is still a very good player. He would fit well at Chelsea. However, I believe the club is getting Schurrle & most likely Lewand. So, Rooney would be a surplus.
xPetrCechx 13,578
Wayne Rooney is odds-on to leave Manchester United in our Transfer Specials with PSG the 9/4 favourites to sign the England striker. Chelsea and Bayern Munich are considered his other possible destinations at 7/2.

Leif 6,006
"He has no feelings towards Chelsea. We shouldn't sign a United-through-and-through player." That's the notion I'm getting from some members.I guess we shouldn't have signed Arsenal-supporting Ashley Cole then should we? Damn mercenary
The Skipper 20,609
Ashley Cole is Wayne Rooney's best friend right? With that being said. I'd much rather we buy Rooney for £25m/30m than us buying Falcao for £50m. Rooney isn't just about goals like Torres and Shevchenko were. He brings a lot more to the table - when he's fit and motivated he's certainly one of the best in the world. He would fit in with Hazard, Oscar and Mata like a glove IMO.I would love this signing. People are just skeptical because of Torres but what made Torres a feared striker was mostly his pace and his confidence in taking a shot, which he has both lost. It isn't the same with Rooney. Not to mention that Rooney would add another option to the -3- in behind the striker as well when needed.Even if Rooney isn't scoring he still brings a lot to the team. Can you say that about Falcao? I don't think so. To say Rooney is finished because he didn't score that many goals this season is very naive because it is clear as daylight that he wasn't playing as the main striker anymore due to RVP's introduction to the team which forced him to have more of an assistance role.He would be an Ashley Cole esque signing IMO. He's had a tough season where he's been played out of position because of the signing of Van Persie. Yes he's only scored 16 goals but do you know what happened the last time he scored 16 goals (and people wrote him off)? He went and scored 34 goals the next season. That's 27 goals in 34 ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE matches. But we should sign a world class forward? Who?Falcao is 27 years old and his record this year - 27 goals in 32 matches. He also has 1 assist which is just 9 less than Rooney this season.
