Edinson Cavani

Meireles + money for Cavani would be a great deal for us. Raul doesn't have a bright future here, his passing is not good enough for double pivot and he is not good enough for CAM position. At 29 years of age he is past the peak of his career and we should seek to get as much as we can for him.

Torres or Sturridge plus money, yes; not Meireles. We can't replace a midfielder with a striker, we're already so lightweight in centre midfield. We have 3 proven centre midfielders, one of whom loses the ball habitually (Ramires) when played there; one who is 35 and one who many of our fans still believe is the weakest link in the squad.

We need Meireles, he's by far our best 4th choice midfielder. If we let go of him we need to replace him as soon as possible with an experienced centre midfielder, Romeu, Essien, et al won't cut it for the upcoming season. We cannot make the same mistake Carlo made and replace our experienced backups with youth, that just won't work unless our youth are world beaters, which they're not by any stretch of the imagination.

Cavani would be a very good addition I feel. Experienced, proven, one for the big matches. A cool head to guide the development of Sturridge and Lukaku in the absence of any senior striking role model (no, Torres is not a role model to Sturridge/Lukaku- if he is, I feel sorry for their careers).

ChelsTransferGossip@ChelsTransfer

Napoli President De Laurentis has instructed FIFA agent, Federico Pastorello to negotiate the sale of Cavani to Chelsea #CFC (Studio Sport)

This does not make sense why would they only want to sell to us man city want him too and would pay more. I dont believe the rumour!

They have often said they want 100 mil and will not sell for less...

I would love to have him but cant see it happening..
