Edinson Cavani

And like I said, Azpi seemed to really liked Benitez. So I would not be surprised if he wants to follow him.

No way we'd ever sell a talent like Azpi after he's already proven himself. The right-back position has been a problem for years before this season so when we finally got a 23 year old star for the position we have to keep him. No matter how thankful Cesar is to Benitez, I doubt he'd want to leave Chelsea for Napoli when he's certain to be a starter under the next manager as well.

Also Napoli already have Christian Maggio who's a great player, they don't need Azpi.

Even if he likes Rafa, I dont think he would switch being a first team in Chelsea to Napoli. And i think we could get Cavani with just torres + cash.

When we buy Cavani and tell Torres he wil be 4th choice, he will be gone faster than that Lisa Ann makes you...well that example might be already a bit... well, sucked dry...

Only 2 strikers and Lukaku isnt good enough.

Well this is interesting. When was the last time any European player scored a hattrick against man u?

That aside, look at his record with west brom. Look at how he's improved. Now, dont get me wrong, im not saying he's a finished product, but saying he isnt good enough should result in a perm ban on these forums..

You're assuming we'd play 4-4-2 for that lol. Mourinho's a one-man striker, much like our system's been for the last 10-11 years

We obviously wouldn't play 4-4-2.

But i can defintitely see Lukaku coming on for 20 mins alongside him. We would be pretty stupid to switch to a 2 up top system.

Hm.

The skeptic in me feels Lukaku will want to leave if Cavani comes in.. Be it on loan or permanent transfer.

As mentioned in the Lukaku thread, i think that if Lukaku is made the undisputed No 2. And we can get out of the torres shadow, then it wouldn't hamper his development. We have 60 game + season next year, and Lukaku would get a lot of sub appearances as well as starts when we rotate. No matter how good cavani is he wouldn't play every game. Provided Lukaku is given the no.2 role i don't see a problem. Though if he stays and we still have FT as a supersub, then it could be hampering his development.

That's a good point. However with Torres' wages, age and general form, I don't think anyone's going to take a punt on him.. Which forces him to be the 2nd choice striker. Not to mention, Demba Ba isn't going anywhere, not 6 months after we signed him.

Why though?

Is he better than Lukaku? No not even close. Mourinho is one of the few managers i think who will realise this and act accordingly and wouldnt be afraid to bench him if needed.
