Cant believe people think Lukaku is ready to lead the line, he wasn't even first choice for West Brom

It's a common problem with Chelsea fans. Most of us (not including me) overrate any young player who looks half promising. People were actually saying Mceachran would be the successor to Lampard for God's sake. After seeing a glimmer of talent they are ready to proclaim that player as a future World Class player, a future legend and pin all of their hopes on him. It's Pathetic. When will they learn

LOL. What a ridiculous statement and why someone would like your comment I do not know. First of all, Steve Clarke used him well. He did not have him on the bench because he was inferior to the other strikers. He knew Lukaku would get many starts but was also a lethal option of the bench. How many defences did he terrorize and score against after coming on? Liverpool home and away, United? Hatrick after coming on.

That should not be the point anyway, he scored many goals for WBA and was one of the leading scorers in the PL. If he had started more he probably would have more goals. His goal return was fantastic in the end of the day and I am sure he will be even stronger next season at a club he has always dreamed of playing for.

Whilst that first sentence did make me laugh, I don't think supporting our young players and wanting to see them given a chance is a bad trait to have. Sure it might take a bit longer than throwing money at established stars and it might not sell as many t-shirts but I've always thought most supporters wanted to see clubs developing talent.

It's why people take notice of FA Youth Cup games and teams that have out players on loan.

I don't think people 'jack off' to them but I think people enjoy watching them progress and do well when given the chance.

Yeah that logic worked out well for Demba Ba didn't it?

That was a £7.5 million punt on a player who had to contend with infrequent playing time in a new system. He was still a good player for us and provided different options.

I'd still like to see what he could do for us next season, rather than taking a €60 million punt on Cavani.

You wait and see, if after this season Lukaku flop badly like Ba, most people would want him out next season too and urges us to go for a top class forward, by them there would be none left for sale...

And what happens if Cavani flops badly? We just sit him alongside another £50 million flop like Torres and go and buy whoever happens to be the most expensive striker next season?

Let's never buy again because of the slightest chance of them flopping! Yeah! Fucking Genius thinking that is!

More excuses as expected.

Why don't you stick to talking complete bollocks about videogames, rather than trying to have an opinion about this club?

People are cautious about this deal because it's a massive financial commitment, not just now but for the next five years. Personally I've enjoyed the way we've looked for value in young players and I enjoy watching them develop. In fact it's always been one of the joys of supporting a football club, seeing young men grow and become part of the family.

But there's a modern-day fan who doesn't understand that connection and simply wants the shiniest name printed on their shirt. To me, those fans are a cancer to football. They don't understand what it means to support a club and in all honesty I pity them because they're missing out on 95% of what it means to be a football supporter.

Now please....don't forget to buy the new shirts with Cavani's name and number printed on them. Thank you, come again.

Well, the way I see it.

Chelsea can´t afford to keep buying ready made players every year. Most of these players are at their peak.

Currently, the club has plenty of young & talented players out on loans. Bring some of them back.

Even, if Chelsea do not win CL or PL titles, fine as long as I see these young players on the team soon & the following year the club challenges for major trophies & of course win some.

Did I say that? There's a massive difference between buying someone like Hazard who is young, cheaper and has sell-on value if he doesn't make it here and someone like Cavani who costs twice as much, would be closer to 30 and have a sell-on value roughly £30 million less than we bought him for.

Are you unable to make these links because explaining this to you is fucking tedious.
