Tomo 21,751
Id laugh if it was Jorge Jesus. As he has made comments about us in the past, it will be interesting to see if for the sake of consistency or double standards if he gets the same flak Rafa got.On another note we will change manager's a lot until we find the right one and i wouldn't have it any other way, i don't want us being obsessed with managerial stability, you only need to ask Newcastle and Arsenal fans about the danger of that formula. KonohasOrangeFlash 2,607
Mourinho is becoming a stronger possibility. He will almost certainly leave Madrid after this season. If not Pep, than Jose.
Henrique 9,133
I think Ronaldo touched Guardiola, then the portuguese apologized the spanish. I dont think he was snubbed.
GodZola 630
Voted for Jose for the purpose of this thread & because he would be my first choice, however I feel Roman has a major role to play with our next manager. I believe it is absolutely imperative that the next manager that comes in gets the final say/word in all footballing matters, be it academy to first team & specifically transfers. We need a man that has his own identity that has the bollocks to tell Roman its his way before any legal document is signed - what we had with jose basically who had total power & used to give Kenyon a list of transfer targets before the season ended, that was when we were most successful before the big fingers got in the pies & started taking Jose authority & then things started to go a little pear - shaped. Football should be kept to football people, business should be left to the suits.I'm not opposed to any manager that meets the required criteria but I feel it is crucial that whoever comes in has a backbone so the club can be taken forward, the foundations are built for years. Jose started it before Roman & his sidekicks got involved, let's hope Roman doesn't make the same mistake again........
bababoom 4,478
I wouldn't mind having Pep here, I know it's a huge risk but i think he will get the best out of the like of Hazard, Oscar, Romeu etc.
Atwa 78
I personally think Pep will reject the job I also don't think Mourinho will come back, despite what he said I am sure he can get better offers without having to endure Abramovich. Rafa will get a extended contract is what I think is likely to happen, as much as I hate to say it. Joachim Löw would be a really interesting option I reckon, always had lots of respect for that man, though it seems very unlikely.

zolayes 14,489
A manager with a good reputation is most unlikely to be willing to work for Roman now. If Benitez is sacked at the end of the season we will get someone desperate for a job (like Benitez) or an inexperienced manager willing to take a risk (laudrup or steve Clarke) but remember AVB and Rodgers comment when linked back to Chelsea " I want to further my career not finish it" Interesting thathe was willing to move to Liverpool but wouldnt have wanted the Chelsea job... Compare the way City have backed Mancini with the treatment meted out to our coaches,

Actually he's kinda pissing me off - what is he - some kind of fickle idiot who cant make decisions? He knows CFC is on the cards, he's obviously looking around for other options... I don't like that... I want a manager desperate to come here and prove something... not choose us as the best of options - because that's what FSW did... Whilst he's done OK - for him to be jovial POST MATCH last night was fucking out of order... I expected him to be gutted, but he doesn't care about Chelsea.... WE NEED A MANAGER with PASSION and SKILL...

Just look at how that turned out.

Joker10 946
If that's true then we might be fucked.Either stuck with Benitez or going after someone who probably won't have the stature not to be sacked within 6 months. FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKWhat do you think Pep would possibly accomplish here that you seem to have a "pep or we are fucked" mentality?Would honestly like to know.I sure would like Pep to manage Chelsea, i would probably be ecstatic. I think we're set up for him, I think we've planned for him, I think he's the one guy Roman might give enough time to and I think he's probably the best man manager we will have hired since Mourinho. If we don't get him, I don't know who else is available who we don't repeat the same old mistakes with. As for best man manager, Ibra does not agree with you.To be fair, he gave AVB a lot more time than many expected. And he probably would have given him more time had a couple of players not been acting the way they did.

Pretty much everything else I've heard about Guardiola's man management skills is positive.

Pretty much everything else I've heard about Guardiola's man management skills is positive. If we're getting rid of the likes of Lamps and Cole it might be because of someone like Pep. At least he won't have to deal with all the 'reported' trouble makers in the dressing room and can groom his own young team.

BleedsBlue 1,549
I want Pep to be our manager because I can see Roman being patient with him.Even if results don't go our way in the beginning(like under Scolari and Avb) Roman will still stick with the guy.If Pep rejects us and takes the City job(Ex-Barcelona links) then we can expect the sacking of managers for another few years.I would really want Jose to return but according to me,he's destined for the United position. Leif 6,006
No one kill me, but I'm starting to think NOW would be the time to have AVB as manager. He's got his team scoring an incredible amount of goals. We have better fire power than Tottenham in my opinion and definitely a better defence. He's dropped that high-line nonsense it seems and just yeah. He would probably have been decent with Hazard, Ba etc. in the team and Lampard being shipped out along with the other 'older' players leaving/gone.
