The Next Manager?

Recommended Posts

I'm indifferent to Lampard tbh, what I'm worried about is "owners going on extensive search". Yesterday we've got news that their understood their mistake and decided to stay away from making decisions about things they have zero knowledge about and leave it to football people. Why change the reasonable stand day later and continue to push for their own version of Ted Lasso again? On several occasions had I tried to find some deep wisdom and smartness in their actions, but let's face the truth, there's none of that there. If we pass on Enrique and Nags and go back to "vision" and "long term" bullshit with Potter 2 (or De Zerbi, because they wanted Brighton but we were next best thing for sale) I'm done.

That’s what I’m worried about. Few positive results, few more goals scored, and then the match going supporters influence a naive owner into giving him the job long term.

only hope is that the deal with a new manager will be signed sometimes before the end of the season.

Good for him and for us. But what would "a good job" even mean? Getting some results?

That wouldn't matter anyways.

Winning the UCL? Impossible.

From my point of view, I hope we smash Arsenal and their title challenge.

good job would be cl finals surely.

Would have preferred Thiago Silva as player interim coach and potentially have him as an assistant to the new coach,or another coaching role in near future.

or Drogba (might atleast have a positive outcome with our forwards)

So 3 managers in 1 season as it is with Bruno as interim. And will be 4 managers in 1 year of ownership under Boehly when FL comes in, then 5 when we appoint a long term manager. This guy will is a fucking shambles.

Also if Frank knows he is only going to be here for 2 months, what does it really say about him and his aspirations to be a manager in the long run? A bit embarrassing on his end too - you think he’d be more ambitious and try get lined up with a full time permanent job that wont be 2 months long.

I get jobs are tough at the minute but on both sides - its just very strange. He has no chance of being our full time manager. So why take it? Why give him it? He is clearly just eyeing the CL (maybe trying to prove something or thinks after seeing RDM or TT do it) but I had more belief in us winning it under Potter than I do with Frank returning. And the chances were close to non existent with GP.

I am genuinely concerned - why gamble on the CL with somebody who got sacked here, sacked at Everton, mainly because they were easy to play against, conceded a lot from set plays and teams struggled to score goals…..

From Lamps to Tuchel to Potter back to Lamps.

Just can’t make this up.

At the moment, I really wish Frank would never have taken on management. Many ppl will remember him more as a so-so coach than as one of the best players in football history. I respect the ambition but taking on PL jobs so soon has really been an obstacle to his managing career development. Slower, more tactical leagues such as Bundesliga or Serie A would have been better for him to take on after Derby where did a very decent job.

let’s just hope for the best. In his first season with us he really outperformed expectations by getting us that 4th spot. Only when expectations rose pressure was too much and team went stale. Again expectations are not that high. Season is already a write off. The way his previous cup campaign have been going we surprisingly beat Real and City but lose to Napoli in the final.

What's weird?

It's weird cause you have no idea what the manager landscape is like in the summer.

But either way, plans can be made now, and the club could easily sign Nagelsmann or whoever on to start their job at the club from the summer.

This move is to appease fans.. bringing someone in who understands the “ culture” at Chelsea..under Lampard we were scoring goals we were also leaking lots of goals let’s Frank is smart enough to bring in JT too to help with organizing the defence

also what I hope is that whatever manager that is coming in to start the season will have the remainder of this season to really watch the team and see how he’ll be able to improve them in the different phases of the game
