I wonder sometimes whether he refuses to play the strongest team available so that he can hide behind that excuse.

If he restores Cucurella or Gallagher to the starting 11 again he's asking for it.

I wonder whether the players should be told to throw a few games just to see the end of Potter.   It's honestly getting to that point, our form line has been pathetic for a long time.

We used to complain that Lampard was out of his depth managing Chelsea...but was it really that much worse than what we've seen under Potter?   Lamps can at least say that he somehow kept us in the european places....whereas Potter is leading us down the table and there's every chance we finish 10th this season.

lampard is clear of potter. He literally had no transfers and got top 4, a cup final and a couple of wins against top teams in the league. I'm not saying lampard was good, he was rubbish but still pisses on potter

I feel the players are already reflecting their managers mindset.

Apart from a few new signings looking to impress, the team in general is just content. Happy to score, but not too fussed if they fail to get a win. It's all par for the course.

Let's see what kind of mindset they use for the CL game midweek. He might ask them to give it a go, because it's a cup competition where anything can happen. Probably a break from the stale stuff we see in the league game.

Getting rid of Tuchel and appointing Potter has to be the stupidest appointment we’ve made since Villas-Boas after Ancelotti. One of the worst moves this club has made in the past 25 years.

Villas boas made sense although sacking ancelotti did not, just didn't work out. His Porto team was epic and won it all. Potter came 16th 15th and 9th with Brighton.

Getting rid of ancelotti might not have been the right call but Villas-Boas was the next up and coming manager, his Porto side were fun to watch, they were winning for fun, went undefeated in their league (IIRC Falcao & Hulk were on fire) and he had connections with Chelsea as he was part of Mourinho's coaching staff.

It's a shame that we didn't get Falcao + Moutinho at that point in time, could of been like Mourinho getting Carvalho and Ferreira back in the day.

Compare that to Potter and it's laughable at the lack of quality.   No wonder why we're so far off the pace in the league, we have a manager who is no different to Moyes at United version 2.0.

I think we need to give him more time. Although we are not looking great, we’re going through a transition and have definitely made progress since we got the January transfers in. Our squad before was severely lacking plus the injuries to so many key players didn’t help.

Our defence is looking solid so that should give him a platform to build on. We’ve pretty much replaced our attack with exciting young players who need time to gel with each other.

My only concern with him is that he doesn’t exude the personality of an elite manager but I guess time will tell.

and viceversa, Potter left a football machine like Brighton, to join a squad built on FIFA without any logic

It still is baffling why it was done and why this appointment was made! Maybe he just saw him doing well at Brighton and didn't consider they were where they should be? It's odd and hasn't paid off so woops!
