Gilmour wanted the loan though as from memory he said he spoke with the manager and he said minutes would be limited to cup appearances and that's why he decided to go out on loan.   The problem wasn't the loan, the problem was loaning him to Norwich of all clubs that were keen on him.  Why not loan him to a side that isn't fighting relegation?

Because he's not good enough for a decent club.

Look back at our 2016/17 squad that won with Conte.

The only players who would get a shot in that team from our current squad are: James, Silva and probably Felix.

Hello!

KANTE

lol

Kovacic for sure as well. Same for Chilwell.

Probably a couple of other too, but you already have now been shown to be leaving off solid players.

also, that 2016/17 side had its fair share of dross on the books

Eduardo
Matej Delac
Jamal Blackman
Michael Hector
Kenneth Omeruo
Matt Miazga
Abdul-Rahman Baba
Todd Kane
Wallace Oliveira
Ola Aina
Nathaniel Chalobah
Marco van Ginkel
Lewis Baker
Victorien Angban
Lucas Piazon
Nathan
Danilo Pantic
Kenedy
Christian Atsu
Michy Batshuayi
Loïc Rémy
Dominic Solanke

The 16/17 team already had a Kante that was better than the version he is today.

Nothing is going right, just nothing. You couldn't write it another injury and a straight red. Criminal.

The performance was shite again- Only Felix looked any good, Mount anonymous AGAIN, KK isn't a pro footballer and Kepa because he's 2ft 3 a big keeper comes and gets that cross.

Absolute shambles

He would be fine as a squad player for mid table PL clubs.   Put it this way, he's no worse than Chalobah (who is only here due to Homegrown status).

He's only here because we have no depth any more, can't compare a CM to a CB, sorry but no Gilmour is not good enough, and never will be, club need to stop buying attacking players and buy a solid technical midfield.

If we're going to buy a technical midfield, we would have to make room so I guess that means parting ways with Mount.

Right now we wouldn't miss him, he was atrocious again yesterday. There was point yesterday that if he had any awareness about himself he could of put Felix through on goal, but because he is too safe of a footballer and limited he didn't play it, he's really really average.

How many times has mount played in a midfield 3? He's been turned into a wide player

That's the point though, he's been put out wide because he doesn't really offer that much in midfield.

Even got dropped from the starting lineup in the world cup due to bang average performances, had to settle for cameo appearances off the bench.

Will be interesting to see what happens with his contract extension talks as he's a safe, steady player but nowhere near the other English youngsters who have star potential (like Foden, Saka and co).

Exactly. If he doesnt offer anything in our already weak midfield and also not performing on elite level out wide. What does he offer then and what do we need him for?

Sometimes i think that shoe horning Mount and Jorgingo\Kovacic in the team is what have crippled us for some time..

KDB or any city attacker would have played either Felix or Havertz in at that play. Where do we find that player who does make those decisions though is the problem
