‘Extraordinary’ Bayern Munich player Mathys Tel could look to leave club amid Chelsea interest

Chelsea could have a good chance to sign one player from Bayern Munich who they are said to be looking at.

It has been a busy transfer window for Chelsea so far.

This summer, the Blues have managed to bring in the likes of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Renato Veiga and Tosin Adarabioyo.

However, Chelsea have not really improved their attack yet, with most of their signings being midfield and defensive ones.

They have brought in Marc Guiu, but he could join Sevilla on loan. With the transfer window still open, though, there is still time for them to act and land a new attacker like one star from Bayern.

Bayern Munich signing forward could push player closer to Chelsea

Bayern have signed Joao Palhinha and Michael Olise and like with Chelsea, there is also plenty of time left for them to add more players to their ranks.

Doing so, though, could impact the future of one member currently in Vincent Kompany’s squad.

Journalist Simon Phillips has shared that his sources believe that Mathys Tel could decide to leave the Allianz Arena this summer, depending on who else arrives.

On his Substack, he wrote: “Mathys Tel of Bayern is still very much ‘still one to watch’ right now according to SPTC sources. They believe that he could look to leave the club, depending on who Bayern sign in. It might be one that develops.”

According to Phillips, Tel is a name that Chelsea have discussed signing internally.

Tel can play as a striker or winger, positions Chelsea have been looking to strengthen during this transfer window.

The Frenchman is also 19, so he fits the Blues’ transfer strategy, which has seen them sign a lot of young players recently.

At that age, Tel obviously has a lot of potential. “He does extraordinary things,” Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has been quoted as saying when discussing his compatriot.

Weren't Liverpool interested in him at one point & Thiago/Matip have both left the club. I wouldn't say anything is a foregone conclusion until the window shuts.

If he wants to leave, then let him leave

BUT

it has to be for £50m minimum

none of this 35m bullshit I have heard chirping about

there has to be a market for us to get 50 million for him.   If there's only 1 club bidding for him, they'll just low-ball us into accepting 35+ million.

If the club had ambitions, they would have taken Barella, Bastoni, proven players of an ideal age in positions where the team needs a leader in defense after the departure of Thiago .

You can't just drop names of players who are unattainable. One may lament we missed out on Olise or Calafiori, but not these lot. Both of them play for one of the best teams in the world and in their home country. They are impossible not only for Chelsea, but for all the other big clubs.

We need a number 9. Lets show ambition and get Haaland. How? Its not about the state or ambitions of the club. There are transfers that could and that could not happen.

100%. If Onana is going for that fee, the English tax alone should see CG going for that figure or more.

Looks like all of the concrete links with us are now exhausted. There’s no one now that you can point to and say “this guy could very well be our next signing.”

Désiré Doué price is now £42m, (Rennes dropped it from 60m to 50m euros)

Bayern tried to low-ball them for only 35m euros (29.4m quid) and Rennes said piss off

I thought they'd have an advantage having done business with them not too long ago (Tel).

Tbh, if Gallagher has any grain of financial sense he will either wait for Chelsea to give him the offer he wants or see out his contract, get that £30m-£50m put in his bank account instead, with a very nice contract to boot.

As for signings we still have a lot of players that we want sorting first.

We have the following categories of players that we need to resolve:

Players to be sold at all cost:

Lukaku, Kepa, Sarr, Broja

Players who may or may not be wanted by the manager:

Sanchez, Petro, Disaster, Badi, Trevor, Conner, Guiu, Mudryk, Chilwell, Carney, Casadei, Sterling (could be in the above category owing to his wagea) Noni (I would personally keep), Kellyman, Veiga.

Players that need loans

Washington, Les, Alfie, Angelo, Fofana

Fitness levels of:

Nkunku, Lavia, W.Fofana, James.

There are still so many questions and too many players already in the club before we can start thinking about more signings - especially as said signings will likely be more teenagers with no experience but thrown into the squad anyway.

He doesn't strike me as that type of person. Playing time is his main priority unlike Money Mase.

Ah, okay. I wasn't aware of that. We should stand a great chance of getting him if we actually go all in.
