Chelsea Transfers

Interesting thing is that given how young the new team is, it will be even harder for our own youth to make it into first team in coming years. Cucu's and Sterling's spots are next to open, but it may take while as they are hard to sell. Silva? Backline is already full anyway. Young, expensive players on long contracts may be hard to shift, so even basic upgrades in the squad may prove difficult. It's possible we will see very little transfer activity from us for a while (partly to replenish FFP maybe).

Maatsen is an actual fullback. So if we can somehow shift Cucu it should be him that stays, imo.

Hall was like 17 when he started playing for our senior team at left back. Not like he has a career of playing midfield , his position can easily change. He looked much worse in midfield anyway

Exactly . LB will always be the realistic position to break into our first team. We have 3 in the u23 rn. Surely Hall should be above them in the pecking order. His crossing is also to good for him to play midfield

What does it even mean? If he fails the medical, doesn't it mean he should probably cease playing football for his own good? If his health if not good enough for Saudi and Turkey, PL may be literal threat to him then.

If he is medically unfit we should be able to fire him. An employee who is unfit to work without a perspective of improvement can have bis working contract terminated even here in Germany were employee protection is super strong.

Maybe that's why he didn't try last couple of years. He just couldn't 😂

On a serious note, he fails medicals because they think his knee is in danger of serious injury but that sounds arbitrary.

we are basically handing him out for free. Don't think anyone would hesitate snapping up the free lunch if there were not actual concerns. No one will ensure him without a proper medical certificate. The doctors are just doing their job. He is a cripple, simple as.

If he’s pushing to go and the club get £35m in pure profit what can we do? Tell him that maybe, possibly, if this, this, and that all fall into place you might get a chance next season?

Sounds like he had his head turned as a boyhood Newcastle fan and sees his path to regular first team football clearer there. Which is true.

It’ll be super annoying selling to a rival and especially if he plays very well, but I won’t lose sleep.
