Chelsea Transfers

The line between us having great window with arguably best midfield in premier league or this;

"£60m for a player who looked decentish for a season in a team that got relegated to play as back up for a £115m player who looked above average for a season for a team who finished mid-table is fucking mental.

Lay me out a line of whatever they're snorting down in Chelse before the game on Saturday and I'll be out partying till sunrise the next day."

and

"So, Chelsea are about to drop another £90m this week. Still playing a 39 year old centre back, Brighton’s 3rd choice keeper.
Still no real goal threat.
It’s bizarre how bad their business is."

(from man city forums)

is thin thin thin. We will either look brilliant or complete trash for next 10 years.

we will have

nkunku

madueke

mudyk

sterling

olise

another buy

nkunku will not play until next year but there is too many players for only 2 slots

Where did you find another buy and only 2 slots?

Mudryk, Sterling LW

Olise, Madueke RW

Last summer we signed two elite goalscorers and ended up with our worst scoring season in nearly a century.

Sort the system and the goalscoring will take care of itself.

Elite goal scorers? who? 😅 Last one I remember was Diego Costa.

Partially agree with the second: not enough options on the wings. Completely dependent on Sterling to regain some kind of form, or it will be a long season.

100% this guy is fake, but still putting it out there

Yeah, absolute bullshit. Sterling is former player worth 30m max if Saudi comes and Musiala is easily 120m player one of the best in the world on his position.

For all their flaws in their overall game both Sterling and Auba have an excellent scoring record down the years.

On paper those two alone should have added 30-40 goals but we barely got to that figure as a team, which is why I laugh when I see comments like "get in a number 9 and some proven PL players" like we haven't already tried it to disastrous results (hopefully 'so far' in Sterling's case).

nkunku will play also as a winger

he played and he played well in that position in our pre season

I read that poch want 2 more players to our attack

if olise is one, we will buy another and there are too many players for 2 positions ( ok nkunku will and can play behind jackson but still...) its too much

Is there a 30+ year old striker out there somewhere who is still clinical and hungry to challenge themselves at a top club? We could do with that even if it’s a loan. That way we can have a stopgap and then reassess the striker market a year from now.

I Know this handsome Frenchman that Lampard 1.0 needlessly cast to the side until he finally left.

Yeah, Oli would be perfect if he was 3-4 years younger. There’s gotta be someone similar to him when we bought him out there for us.

That goes down to personal preference, and age too: never rated Auba--way too lazy for the PL--and had already lost some of hit pace when he left Arsenal. I was 100% against signing him from day 1.

Sterling made some sense, and I still expect him to deliver in a working system. He already took his much needed break from Pep's demanding system. With Nkunku playing on the left, Sterling would need to close down and do what Mount used to do.

My issue is cover. I think the alternatives are either (so far) complete flops or complete unknowns.
