Would rather see Cucurella go and Maatsen stay

Nine that need to go

Lukaku

Sterling

Cucurella

Conor Gallagher

Trevoh Chalobah

Callum Hudson-Odoi

Hakim Ziyech

Malang Sarr

Kepa (next season)

And potentially number ten:

If Broja doesn't do much, well buh-bye

Southampton director Jason Wilcox on Romeo Lavia: “We had an offer which we accepted from Liverpool but then Chelsea came to the table” 🔵 #CFC

“We're currently in negotiations with Chelsea, I'm confident that something will get done in the next week or so”, via @markgwyatt.

Hopefully it’s done within the next 24 hours so that he can get a few training sessions in for the weekend. And so we don’t allow a desperate, begging Liverpool a chance to dramatically raise their bid and wage offer to Lavia to turn his head again.

We all know exactly how this new, Declan Rice-less West Ham will play. They’ll want to be super physical, high energy, and lots of direct play to try to rattle us. So having both Caicedo and Lavia in our midfield to battle them with physical power would be a huge bonus.

The hamstring tear Olise suffered from and is currently out with is a grade 3 tear so he might well be perma wrecked already.  Not that this comes as surprise as all our big signings are usually either injured, coming off a big injury or injure themselves badly shortly after signing for us. But that is probably the reason we keep stockpiling.

It’s a big concern for sure. Have to imagine that the club will be super cautious and not rush him in just because he’s a shiny new toy.

But for us to STILL push ahead with his signing rather than get someone like Kudus or Cherki who are ready to go right away it must mean they have absolute faith that he’ll recover fully. And they better be right if he’s getting a massively long contract!

At least the price is ridiculously low in this day and age. 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

The way football is now, we have to.

The added time change. International breaks. Nations League bull shit. Champions League change where it is now a league table vs group stage.

Quality in depth is needed everywhere.

Lavia is as unproven as it gets esp coming from championship.

Odd considering that Poch said no long ago, "Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that he does not want any more than 25 players in his Chelsea squad for the 2023-24 campaign."

???? Championship.

He was in the PL last season lol.

They just got relegated this season. And it was Poch that said he wanted more bodies in the mid.

The fuck? Isn't the whole point of having a release clause that you don't have to deal with the selling club before talking to the player? 😂

My guess would be that we again do not actually want to draw the clause, but negotiate installments. Nevertheless its still just Palace being butthurt

You are right that he played PL last season, and got relegated--is it better? It's also a fact he's now a championship player and as such should entertain a lower market value. We did not see any of the top clubs chasing him immediately after the drop, did we?

I think what the club is doing is very clear and obvious, and I, for one, would have zero expectation for Lavia this season.

I personally, for a number of reasons, do not like signing players who show potential in very poor sides; it could be misleading. 🤷‍♂️
