Blues Forever 1,232
Just now, MoroccanBlue said: Can you post it? Inter Milan are on the verge of sealing Romelu Lukaku’s return to Italy which will prompt Chelsea into concentrating on the club’s incoming transfer business. As first reported by Telegraph Sport, Raheem Sterling is among Chelsea’s targets this summer and the club plan to make decisions on which attacking players to make firm bids for following Lukaku’s departure. Lukaku will re-join Inter on loan once the Italian club give the official green light for the move to go ahead after Chelsea presented them with their final proposal over the striker. New co-owner Todd Boehly made Lukaku’s future one of his top priorities and was left with little choice but to grant him a loan move back to Inter after the striker made his determination to return clear. Head coach Thomas Tuchel has also backed Lukaku’s move, despite the fact the German has always insisted that he supported Chelsea’s decision to re-sign the Belgian for a club record £97.5milllion last summer. With the Lukaku problem set to be solved, at least for a season, Chelsea will have a clearer picture on what exactly the club requires in terms of attacking players and who can best meet Tuchel’s needs. There is an awareness inside Stamford Bridge that replacing Lukaku with another top-class out-and-out striker will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, having seen Erling Haaland move to Manchester City and with Robert Lewandowski preferring a move to Barcelona. That leaves Chelsea considering other options, but still needing at least one new forward who can provide some guarantee of goals and assists, which is why Sterling is such an attractive option. In total last season, Sterling scored 17 goals and registered nine assists, compared to Lukaku’s 15 goals and two assists. Havertz netted 14 times and set up six goals, while Mason Mount provided three more goal contributions than Sterling. Sterling only has one year remaining on his contract and Europe’s biggest clubs believe the 27-year-old is ready to leave City, who sources claim will still demand between £50m and £60m for the England international. Chelsea have not yet opened any talks with City over Sterling or discussed how much they might be prepared to pay for the player and it may well be that Tuchel recommends signing two attacking players this summer. Ousmane Dembélé could be available on a free transfer and, while Tuchel admires him, he does not carry the goal threat of Sterling. But the 25-year-old France winger could boost Chelsea’s numbers after posting 13 Liga assists in just 21 matches for Barcelona last season. Dembélé’s injury record is a cause for concern and Chelsea have also been made aware of the availability of Sterling’s City team-mate Gabriel Jesus, although Arsenal are currently at the front of the queue for the Brazilian. RB Leipzig’s Christopher Nkunku would likely be the most expensive of Chelsea’s attacking options. Any firm move for Sterling could also prompt discussions between Chelsea and City over Nathan Ake, with the Blues aware the Premier League champions might be tempted into selling the Dutch defender this summer. Tuchel holds a long-term interest in Ake, having first become interested in the player while in charge at Borussia Dortmund and the 27-year-old would provide Chelsea with a natural left-footed replacement for Antonio Rudiger in the team’s back three. The fact Ake can fill in at left-back and play in midfield would also be attractive. Chelsea sold Ake to Bournemouth in 2017 for £21m and did not take up their buy-back option on the player when he then moved to City for £41m two years ago. Among Tuchel’s defensive targets are Sevilla’s Jules Kounde, Juventus star Matthijs de Ligt, Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol and Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe, while Italian reports have claimed he wants to sign Inter's right wing-back Denzel Dumfries. None of those players have Premier League experience, which is another reason why Tuchel could consider adding Ake high on his list of potential signs to replace Rudiger and Andreas Christensen. Chelsea are also still waiting to confirm the future of Barcelona target Cesar Azpilicueta. MoroccanBlue

Pizy 18,961
Nathan Aké isn’t good enough to play more than a few minutes for the club we’re trying to catch. Why should we be after him? He’s an okay player but nothing more these days. bigbluewillie, Blue Armour and Vesper

Blues Forever 1,232
A second meeting between Chelsea and Inter took place today. Chelsea asking €10m loan fee + add-ons. Inter is ready to say yes to these conditions, only missing the green light from Inter President before it will be a done deal. Pizy 18,961
Just have to hope like hell that Rom kills it at Inter again so that either Inter themselves decide he’s worth buying back for a decent fee or it serves as an audition for some other club to take him. Someone like Atleti are always buying strikers so maybe they’ll be an option next summer. He’s tailor made for Simeone.

Blues Forever 1,232
The Blues have also tried to leverage Inter's interest in Lukaku to swap him for Lautaro Martinez, Denzel Dumfries, Milan Skriniar and Alessandro Bastoni. They've seen their requests for these players rejected out of hand.

Getting Torres meant we couldn't put our name in the hat for Aguero, Falcao and Cavani when they became available and we started signing players (and managers in Rafa's case) who would have worked/did work well with the prime version to try and coax something resembling form from him. Not to mention the toxic positivity the crowd and his fanboys spread every time he done something resembling a footballer. As terrible as Lukaku has been we thankfully seem to be getting shot early and Tuchel quickly dropped him. I think it is much worse when you realize and admit your mistake after one season, also Torres signing was much better without hindsight. You may view Torres fans as toxic, but in Lukaku case he is himself is toxic which is why he is being shipped out despite a 100m loss lol. If Lukaku had the same attitude as Torres, Tuchel would give him much more opportunity.
MoroccanBlue 5,385
Torres had a horrible attitude and it reflected on the pitch with his body language. Thank god RDM had the balls to drop him from the first five penalty takers or we would’ve lost in Munich.
