MoroccanBlue 5,381
Raphinha specifically said he doesn't want to play wingback according to Deco. He'd be brought as an attacker.

Pizy 18,903
We ain’t spending £65m to take one of the leagues best wingers out of attack and moving him to wingback, ffs. 🤣 If we are after another wingback we could get a top quality one for a hell of a lot cheaper than what Raphinha will cost. Borna Sosa for example. As for Mount moving deeper in midfield, that’s another bad idea. His best work is done around the box. Moving him further back takes away all his best qualities. No one is asking Mount to be our #6. Having Sterling and Raphinha in attack would put Mount back to his natural position as the advanced midfielder in a midfield 3. This would allow Chalobah + Colwill to rotate with Silva, not to mention we will have TWO deadly flanks with James + Raphinha and Chilwell + Sterling. I’m still very skeptical that Tuchel will suddenly switch to a 4-3-3, though. The back 3 system suits so many of our personnel so well. There is virtually no way Sterling, Raphinha, and Mount are not on the pitch together for the majority of our fixtures. Pizy 18,903
Got really excited for a moment there but now the journalists are saying that we still need Raphinha himself to choose us over the others. Not done yet.

Assuming the expectation is to still close a deal on Sterling, buying Raphinha would surely shut down any possibility of Dembele. It looks now like Dembele has no other option but Barca but that would be fine if it means that it would also end any interest they have now or in the longer term for Raphinha. Chelsea and Leeds have reached full agreement for Raphinha! Official bid accepted around £60/65m [add ons included]. Main part of amount to be paid immediately. Blues11 213
Raphina and Sterling is good business. Would still love to see a midfielder be signed but good start if those two signings do occur.
