Tbf, it was a team that is about the level of a Conference South team in England.

Doesn't matter. This is so rare, maybe some kind of a record. Top teams play every summer against these teams and they get high wins but one player scoring 7 goals? In just 35 mins? Amazing! After all I think Spurs got knocked out by 4th division team lately.

More probable that Haaland shies away from the pressure to compete with the mighty penalty lord Jorginho for Chelsea top scorer lol

We have too many lords in our squad atm.

Lord Drinkwater. Lord Bakayoko. Lord Barkley.

And don't forget the enigmatic Babayaga.

Is it possible that the club wants Tuchel to do a full assessment of the loan army with at least a few friendlies before jumping into the transfer market? Hence the lack of real news on the transfer front?

Not the way to approach negotiations - leaving it till late in the window.

The club has its targets - Rice for DMF and Haaland for ST. The only thing that explains this window is that the club is looking for the ideal moment to strike a deal - Rice was with England NT and is now coming back from holiday. There should be a bid soon.

Or the CL victory has genuinely convinced Roman and the transfer chiefs that Tuchel is a miracle worker and can challenge for the title without a single signing. The fact that there’s been ZERO advanced negotiation or news of bids for anyone with only 17 days until the start of the season kind of tells me this is what’s happening.

They can't be THAT dumb right? Haven't they learnt their lesson already with Conte?!

After Conte winning title we spent close to 200m for 6 players. Plus 3 more in January. Many of them have been flops but that is different topic.

And for now, TT wants a striker and club is doing everything in their power to secure most exciting striker in the last decade or even more... Not to mention he is going to be one of the most expensive players ever.

i think board learn something,,quality over quantity. better spent over 250m for 2 player who's main target rather than 200m for 6 player which's 2nd-5th option. and i agree,,no need to rush buying 2nd-5th option if the end we got bad gameplay & trophyless again like conte last season....

Just curious, are you really obsessed with what's going on with our transfer dealings everyday? Seems unhealthy. 😅

The irony is that Tuchel has not come out and said he wants a ST, has he? It's all just paper talk since the end of last season.

Anyway realistically speaking, while the transfer window may close only on August 31, if there's still nothing moving regarding Haaland after this week or next week, then I doubt a move is gonna happen because the season is starting very soon for Dortmund and selling him then would leave them very little time to find a capable replacement.

The signing of Varane by Manchester United is imminent: the operation will close at 50 million euros (£42.7m)

The signing of Varane for Manchester United is a matter of hours , at most days. The French center-back will change Real Madrid for the English team after reaching an agreement between the three parties. The French international wanted a new adventure but without being in trouble with the club that catapulted him to fame. It remains now to know if those of Carlo Ancelotti will go to the transfer market in search of a replacement.

Real Madrid and Manchester United are about to make the transfer of Raphael Varane official. The French central reached an agreement with the English team last week , in such a way that he left Real Madrid the final decision of whether or not to accept his departure. The merengue team, which seeks to make money to endorse the signing of Mbappé , wanted to renew it , but by not accepting, they preferred to sell it, to let it go free next summer.

Pretty sure Roman promised him Haaland on the pitch in Porto after CL final.

The comparisions with Conte's summer is bizzare. So far they literally couldn't be any different.
