Pizy 18,941
Yeah, Upamecano is the absolute last guy we should want in the PL when wanting to play out from the back. Koulibaly was calamitous when he was here but this dude would make him look composed. Vesper

Should be one of the first players to be offloaded this summer. Hutchison, as well as Trevor and potentially Conor will be victims of Clownlake’s daft sell for pure profit approach whilst average players like Mudryk, Disasi, Sanchez, Petrovic etc will continue. And the managerial appointment as well could certainly be another risky move. Then they will continue to wonder why we aren’t making real progress/successful. But it does beg the question, when we got linked to McKenna he managed Ipswich... Omari ent out in loan to Ipswich, what makes a player at Ipswich anymore Chelsea ready than the manager that got them back to back promotions? Not saying he is ready for us but he can’t be any worse than Mudryk has been, slightly different positions but surely the manager could give him a run out in pre season and see what he’s got. The McKenna links were odd too. It’s almost as if the co-sporting directors are doing everything on impulse/making it up as they go along. Club wanted Poch, was the number 1 target, a year later he’s out. Then it was basically every name from Thomas Tuchel to Kieran McKenna. Then it was Enzo Maresca. It was very reminiscent of when Todd was giving it billy big bollocks and basically trying to sign every player under the sun when he was acting sporting director. Scattergun approach. With Cucurella likely going to be used in an inverted role, having a left footed left winger outside to keep the width is a good option also. Fair enough I think its probably a dead cert he will be sold and likely have a decent season whilst we get another season of Mudryk playing horrendously. Pizy 18,941
I’m not ready to completely write off Mudryk but this is absolutely his last chance. The player we saw before we bought him was unbelievable. I have hope that he can be unlocked again. Fernando and bigbluewillie
Mário César 1,280
if we sell omar with a buy-back clause, that's fine with me if we don't, it's too risky

If you see the video showcasing the tactics of McKenna it discusses the impact of Hutchinson and shows his role and heatmap. he was more of a left sided winger or even a second striker. I'm in 2 minds ATM about the appointment, if there intention is to wait a few season and build a proper team from youth then I can completely get onboard with this, but just say it, don't act Asif we are going for top 4 and trophies all the time because it's probably out of our reach ATM, but I agree poch signing was strange then to go after a season and give enzo 3 more years on a contact than poch, really makes me feel poch was always a stop gap. Pizy 18,941
Whichever striker we get is probably going to be yet another young talent that’s going to need time to settle in and will be inconsistent in their first season much like Nico Jackson was this past one. There really isn’t that RvP/Haaland/Diego Costa sort of striker that you are 100% convinced will be the final piece for your team and score 20 or more instantly. So hopefully whichever scout convinced the club that we needed Cole Palmer is the one who picks out our new striker.
Clockwork 1,794
Wasen't there a lot of reports that Pochitino believed Kepa last summer, and we know how that turned out. Sanchez didn't work out under De Zerbi because he didn't like his ability on the ball, not sure why it would different under Maresca. But I agree with this. Seems like a misstep. Only explanation I can think of is there's a fund crunch to go out and sign someone when there's 3 senior keepers on the books. Also the reason for free signing at CB
