I think when season ends conclusion will be that we missed CL place exactly because of those injuries.

and shit CBs

Wesley Fofana was perma damaged when we STUPIDLY bought him, so his injuries with us do not count (as in his injuries hurt us, he already was wrecked)

Does anyone remember if the Premier League moved in line with uefa financial regulations and also restricted the amortisation of transfer fees to 5 years max?

the UEFA FFP regime is more stict than the EPL's

it is why we may refuse Conference League if we qualify

not enough prize money to make it worth compliance

I didn't give up on Fofana yet.

Chiesa also available for just 35-40m euros in the summer. He is without serious injuries for almost year and a half now so I think worth a shot. Instead of Sterling ofc. Let's see EURO first.

And inexperience in central midfield.

Yup Kobel is off the table, yellow black through and trough

the only remotely class young goalie available for reasonable money is still Marma. Coming off another solid season at Valencia. The bats have a similar squad structure like ours with only 2 players in their early 30ies and most under 25. Still a respectable season with Marma being one of their more experienced ones and a leadership figure within the team. I was surprised Bayern did not deem him ready and bet on Nübel instead but surely Marma is ripe for a big transfer in summer

A durable LB that can defend well.  (Sell Cucurella)

An experienced RCB that is fast, can read the game well and is an aerial specialist. (Sell Chalobah + Silva leaving)

A fox in the box striker. (Jackson bench option or LW)

An experienced CM/DM that wouldn't mind being given the 'Mikel' role. (Loan out Lesly)

Honestly think these are the only 4 pressing matters at the moment. Bring those 4 in and solve our injury issues, we look way better.

My only concern is Marmar gives out huge rebounds and without a sure defensive line I can see us shipping more goals than this year

You are absolutely right about the rebounds being a concern. It is similar to Courtois who also used to parry balls straight back into the danger zone earlier in his career. But i do believe this can be ironed out here too. It is more difficult for guys like Kepa or Piggie who just have weak wrists and short reach they will just let in some balls mamar easily rebounds and they will never be able to improve upon that. But I do believe there are drills that help with directing reaction parries and also gaining more experience will help.
