Hopefully he signs the contract extension and then we get him a solid loan this season. Looked like a decent young CB during pre-season. Humphreys is currently under contract till 2024 but just yesterday it was reported by Kinsella that the club are in talks with him over a new deal and then he'd be heading on loan for the season: https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/Chelsea-fc-latest-news-transfers-humphreys-2023-b1098920.html I'm pretty sure I remember reading earlier in the summer that the club have an option to extend his current deal to 2025 so even if he doesn't sign the extension that doesn't necessarily change much. But I'm sure the player himself would fancy earning a lot more money so it's likely that he signs anyway.
Reddy 5
We don't need centre halves, even our fullbacks can play there, we don't need a central midfielder if his going to cost a fortune, we need a lethal striker if it's possible to even find one. Even the best strikers in the world will struggle if the team fail to control the game and struggle to create good goalscoring chances on a regular basis to feed them. No point splurging out big money on a world class striker before the rest of the team is in order. So fix the midfield ASAP and then see what Jackson, Nkunku, Mudryk, Madueke etc. can do in attack. If the team start playing well but it looks like we might still need another striker we can circle back to it either in the January window or the next summer. And if Jackson looks like he might be the real deal, go all-in on his development and just make sure he has enough support.

Thor 2,819
The more I watch of Caceido - I do see a good player - but not 100 mil worth. But I guess it is what it is. He is a very, very good player. Just hard to see 100 mil worth. King Kante

Reminds me of Torres being flown in, signed and then had a terrible debut against Liverpool, the weight of expectation, no cohesion etc. If Arsenal hadn't won yesterday on pure jam, the headlines today would have all been about Kai and Rice, rightly so. Arsenal had the same pattern of play time and time again, I really cannot see them doing a ton this year and will rely on UCL.

Pizy 19,280
The Tyler Adams move still has me confused. The long term starting pairing will *crosses fingers* be Enzo + Caicedo. Then we have THREE quality teenagers in Andrey, Casadei, and now Ugochukwu who play in CM/DM. It’s already going to be an issue finding space for all these guys. So adding Adams who is still just 24 makes things even more of a headache in the long term. For this season specifically where we can use his PL experience it makes sense, I suppose. But what happens if Casadei and Ugo have extremely impressive loans and Andrey really impresses while staying here? We’ll have loads of midfielders then who all are good enough to be playing regularly and not enough minutes to go around. My point is that it didn't help. If this is truly all over being £5-10m apart then Moises should hand a transfer request in and forego any signing fees, right? Not turning this on it's head but I'm saying if he's that desperate to leave, why wouldn't his agent advise that? Ah right, because that same agent who brokered the extension, would get less money.. Of course!
Reddy 5
I seen Caicedo play, his nowhere near worth that kind of value, we again being taken for a ride and also again by the same club. cfccrost and xPetrCechx
Duppy Conqueror 1,584
Only Keeper and CF where we will potentially pay big in the near future(although may not need too if our young grow good there) Sure Caicedo is overpriced,we could have got another good DM/CM plus another good player at another position for his likely cost but overall i'd say we are ahead due to players we've got as bargains in the current market, our investment in young players and players coming through our youth system far outweighs paying 30m or so over the odds for Caicedo. And we still likely to buy 1-3 others.
