Salah has incredibly exceeded expectations at Pool, his first season at Pool he scored more goals than his entire time in Serie A. His numbers were worse than Salah's, he was coming off an awful spell at Arsenal and was a number of years older. There isn't much of a comparison. Also, the last bit is wrong - he scored 43 (32 in EPL) in all comps for Liverpool and 43 (35 in Serie A) during his time in Italy. Pizy 18,942
If our interest in De Jong was indeed real (and I don’t think it is) I would bet you anything that Barca would intentionally ratfuck us again. They’d string us along until deadline day, agree a fee, and then sell him to Man United for less than any fee we agreed to pay. For whatever reason they have some sort of perverse hatred of us this summer. bigbluewillie
Jype 6,398
No idea how reliable the journo is, and unless I'm not mistaken the lad couldn't join before 2024 anyway when he turns 18. Real Madrid have really struck gold in these kind of early deals with Vinicius Jr. and Rodrygo. Blue Armour

milka 3,393
I have a feeling that we will turn to him at some stage if we fail to find an option for the attack. Tuchel will be simply forced especially with these lack of options Edited July 27, 2022 by milka
Pizy 18,942
I also wouldn’t be surprised if it happens at or near the deadline. We’ll get desperate in our search for a striker/winger and United will be desperate to get rid of a gigantic distraction.
MoroccanBlue 5,383
I can see it happening if we get rid of Werner and Ziyech. £372,000 freed up.

Pizy 18,942
I just wonder how he’d look in a team without a traditional playmaker at his age. If you dropped 38 year old CR7 in the City team where they’d create 1000 chances for him I still think he’d be incredible. You drop him in our XI with Mount, Sterling, and whoever is on the other wing I think he’d struggle. None of these players are the sort that will feed him service. Likewise our CM’s. I don't think CR7 is that dependent on a playmaker to be fair. His movement in the box and ability to find the correct spaces are essentially second to none still; while he is still a stone cold finisher. The problem with him in 2022 is he is essentially a Pipo Inzaghi which isn't a type of player you see anymore. By this, I mean that he only plays in the 18 yard box and is a complete non-entity when the team in without the ball. Only way he works here is if he accepts that he only starts when we know we will have 65% of the ball and that he'll be a bench option for the rest of the time. However, his ego (which to be fair is a big part of why he is one of the greatest players ever) and desire to continue setting records means he is highly unlikely to do this and be a problem when it happens (see last season at Utd when dropped.)
